Kristy was the smart choice, but Kant's live performance gagged me ngl. It's SO difficult to be intentionally funny, and then to be EVEN MORE funny in a stage show and she pulled that off.

:10: points in the poll. Kant will grow stale with time and even moreso if it has to change its lyrics, but this was a hilarious result all the same.

Yup, I really don't see them letting this pass. The EBU censored Latvia back in 2022 for the "eating veggies and pussy" line and others countries in the past like Italy's last winner. You could argue kant just means "singing" in Maltese but it's 101% clear they're using it to come across as if they're "serving c*nt." They want you to hear it as the vulgar swear word. The problem is this line is basically the whole idea of the song. You censor it and it's not Kant anymore. I'll be really surprised if this entry as it is makes it to Eurovision.

"I'm serving KWEEN" - sigh.
They will change "Kant" to "Kween",won't they? :D

^ Actual live footage of @BorisBubbles during Kurt Calleja's sexy entry and performance
To be fully fair, between Kurt, Matt Len, Edvin Törnblom, Erik Segerstedt and Agust's rightmost dancer, I've been exposed to so many facially-bescruffed, necklace wearing cuties that I've become butter (they can spread me on their toast any time xoxo...x)

Or, hear me out, without changing the title, censor the 'Kant' and let the audience shout it!

Or, serving HARD!

I'm genuinely sad Malta is not in the first half of the first semi. Having "Kant" As the Eurovision opener in a year this weak would have been so iconic lol

Overall: it is dated and rather... uhm, stupid and cheap (sorry), but tbh? I had fun watching it and laughed, and I do not dislike the idea of watching it again. A generous 6 points (because I want my point average for this year to go above 5 already gdi).

Why has Malta gotta pick the name of a song that sounds so similar to probably the rudest word in the English language. :ROFLMAO:

They better not. Maybe serving looks dundun dundundun
Okay this (or serving kween) would up the "heart-arising-from-ineptitude" factor all on its lonesome and get me to reconsider

Maybe the EBU will let it pass.

No drill. I took this from the official Eurovision.tv page Oo

Miriana Conte has won 'Malta Eurovision Song Contest' and will represent the country at Basel 2025 with the song 'Kant' ('Singing').

Yeah, you read it correctly.
They pretend to be naive and even translate "Kant" as "Singing" in the caption 😆

They even advertise it as a huge comeback for the Maltese language:

After the votes had come through, we had a winner. Miriana Conte will represent Malta at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest with the song Kant - which is the Maltese word for singing.

It means that the Maltese language is back at the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 25 years.

I must admit this song has something. Something good? I haven't decided yet but the song draws attention. And the bookies? ... Let me check ... yes, they like it too!
