I had a good laugh listening to this, and just for this I will give Kant a :2: otherwise it would have been lower.

I expected Kristy to win tonight! (Running order) but assumes it would be either Kristy or Stefan but the running order actually didn’t matter. I’m actually happy Kant is going to Eurovision. I actually wanted Dario to win because I thought it would be something that could do well. I’m hoping Kant / innuendo could be a good platform.

I’ve had messages from people who aren’t Eurovision fans about this song. It’s a talking point! Hopefully it’s enough

The song's got some interesting elements in it but overall I'm not compelled by it.

And please don't accuse me of ''fat shaming'' ... what's up with most Maltese artists at the Eurovision being plus size? Does the country struggle big time with obesity?

If Malta fails to qualify this year with this song/performance AND Australia, UK and Ireland all voting in their semi-final, they may as well withdraw until the EBU reintroduce juries into the semis.

It is nice. It is funny. It is light and silly. However, she will struggle with Erika on the same semifinal. EBU should start thinking about getting a better way of dividing entries per semifinal. Last year, Malta got a death spot by the excess number of girl bops on semi 2.

Ugh, let's not talk about it

I think there's an important distinction between being plus-sized and being obese. Nevertheless, I understand your question was in earnest and it piqued my interest, so I did a quick Google search. There's a scientific study from about 10 years ago that concluded 69.75% of the Maltese population is overweight or obese. This study doesn't go into detail in answering the "Why?", but it does point out that the Maltese diet heavily relies on imported foods, which makes sense for a small island nation. This reminded me of a news piece from several years ago on the prevalence of obesity in American Samoa, an island territory of the United States. In that case, a major contributing factor was that the meat being imported there was very high in fat. Fatty meat is considered lower quality, making it less desirable to consumers and therefore selling for cheaper. American Samoa was either choosing to buy fattier meat to save on budget or its trade partners were pawning off lower-quality food that their consumers didn't want- I don't recall which one was the case. I suspect Malta may face a similar issue, but I can't say with certainty. I'm only speculating

This entry reminds me of the lowest of reality TV, where people think that rude and tasteless behaviour is somewhat „authentic“, where people who have done nothing else to achieve fame think they are a celebrity.

There‘s a fine line between cheekyness and embarressment, between fun and rudness, between sexy and vulgar. This song has stepped over it with a huuuuuuuuuge margin.

I find the performance a bit confusing, between ukulele, green fur dress, gym ball and also some vulgar movements. I would have preferred Kristy with the pop-opera and a good performance!

Malta qualified with televoters easily when they sent interesting and well-staged entries.
"Kant" is fun but also kinda dated.
Why should televoters vote for it? The song is a hot mess on stage as well (if they don't change the staging).

If Malta withdraws, it will be very sad but honestly, juries wouldn't have made them qualified in 2022-2024 either.

If I could give a minus score I would. Truly, truly pathetic and a disgrace of a song.

It’s like an 11 year old discovered the C-word and thought ‘well I can’t say that, but I can almost say it’. Childish in the extreme.

Maybe I’m prudish, but there’s no other way of dressing up the fact we’ve got a song that is basically parading the C-word around now in May.

I thought Latvia with the salad song was bad enough. Now we’ve got this. If I was the EBU, I’d ban it outright. And I’d have done the same with the salad song too btw. You just can’t have it at a family friendly competition if you ask me.

I know some will say but that’s not what the song is about. When you’re putting the word ‘serving’ before it, Malta knows what it’s doing. It’s not clever, it’s not funny.

If I’m in the minority here, so be it.

If they have to change the lyrics the song will not work anymore imo, thats Basically the whole joke about it. Then they can withdraw aswell

I hope EBU will be fine with it. I'm veeery liberal (libertarian even?) when it comes to things like that hahaha.

The "joke" of the song is its only redeeming quality in my opinion.

The way that they clarified that Kant means singing in the official Eurovision YouTube video, hahaha I’m dying.

Why should they come up with any problem with the song? There are so many „false friends“ words in European languages that sound the same but have different meanings in different languages!

Tumblr, mostly.
You could change the "Kant" into "Song" or "Camp", and still sing it a bit like "Cunt" with little effort, I guess

Because they’re presenting Kant as the C-word. They’re not exactly being subtle about it.

It’s not as if it’s one word in the mix which could be misinterpreted - it’s the title of the song. It’s front and centre of it. They’re saying it, but trying to be clever in not saying it. Issue is, it’s not clever.

The C-word is still seen as the worst swear word to many and broadcasters have a real issue with it. A lot of people do too. Even those of us who are quite liberal overall.

I detest the word, so a song making ‘light’ of it on the Eurovision stage is not for me.
