In twitter write that this EBU proposed such requirements (about a small arena) Starting next year, the big arenas will be no more.

This is good news for me, going to the roots, where there was no big arenas. In my opinion, a good move on EBUs part.

I said a few pages ago, that organizing a NF is MUCH cheaper, than hosting the actual contest.

But you made the statement that SVT wants a smaller venue which I just said isn't really true based on the NF. We weren't talking about costs.

That rule would be weird, smaller arena = less people = less revenue = less money for EBU

But you have the costs into consideration, also.

I do not think it was a decision only the Swedes. Yes, Malmö cheaper, but incomes will be lower. The larger arena - the greater the income from tickets and journalists.

Most revenue is in the advertising and phone votes. Most Eurovisions before the OTT contests usually made a profit, they now don't. Well the BBC and France 3 will be happy as they've wanted this since 2000-01.

Agree, this is the main reason. Malmö did probably also give a much better deal. There are actually EU laws about this.

But doesn't that mean also less revenue for Sweden.

Right, we can discuss the cost subject as well but I was responding to one of the claims you made.

There are probably different factors playing into their decision and finances was probably one of them but they would have booked the friends arena if it was available at that time. So that point isn't really true, either.

Delegations and press will probably help there especially in comparison to there size in 2000. I'd say the Copenhagen issue will be more damaging imo.

but let's see the facts, if 10000 people or 60000 people would visit Sweden, this could bring up 6x more no? No matter how much journalists there are:s

Depends how long some of them are staying e.g. one night or a while. Also will they use ESC as a tourist advert or not, long term vs short term? Besides MF each year constantly attracts an international audience. As well as having the Hockey Championships it's all dandy really.
