Just listened to the songs for the first time and I have to agree with [MENTION=4437]ParadiseES[/MENTION] : This selection has really improved since last year. My three favorites so far are: "This Time", "Dangerous" and "Feel my love". But of course this can and will change.

Take My Love - Amazing. Cancel the selection NOW and send whoever the women is that's singing this... If it is a woman? Very dark, beautiful, androgynous voice.

Dangerous (S.O.S.) - Pretty cool pop with an rnb vocal. Unsure it's that strong a song though. I'd need more time with this one. I think I like it. In fact, i'm sure this is a good one.

The Right Way - Ok, pleasant light gospel pop.

This Time - Horrible. Really cliche.. urhh. edit: worst of the bunch actually.

Es Tut Mir Nicht Leid - This is pretty nice. Really swinging piece of music. Not sure i'm keen on her delivery or voice.

Factory Hearts - This is certainly interesting and would be something very different for the contest. I would be very, very happy with Lithuania sending this. In fact, I think I like it even more than "Take My Love".... Oh my goodness. It's so good hype hype hype. It sounds like an Irishman singing this.. in fact, how would anyone other the band who wrote it perform this song? See, that's what I hate about this selection. It makes no sense. I'd hate it if someone else sung a song I wrote for myself.

Feel My Love - next..

No More Tears - Gosh, stunning voice. This is incredibly strong..... oh but the chorus has just started. What a dull, uninspired chorus for such a beautiful beginning. Nope, it can't survive on it's verse alone with a chorus like that.

Not Perfect - NEXT

Sketsu - Cool beans this one is musically. This is a song where perhaps a better (or more interesting) vocalist would be more suited. Awesome electronic sound though.

Say You Love Me - Parts of it are nice but ultimately it's too cliche.



Overall, I like this selection of songs. There are four very good ones in my opinion and a couple more that are ok.

None of the songs are as good as Attention. 'Say You Love Me', 'Skestu' and 'Feel My Love' are my favourites.

My first impressions:

This Time - Meh, this is so average imo... Too similar to so many other songs!

Say You Love Me - Again, meh. Just so standard and ridden with clichés...

Es Tut Mir Nicht Leid - Complete and utter mess

Not Perfect - So dull and uninspired. The melody is borderline rubbish.

Skestu - This one is interesting, I quite like it! I love the fact that it's in Lithuanian, and should it be chosen I'd be SO infuriated if they translated it. I agree with [MENTION=9441]RainyWoods[/MENTION] though, a more interesting, perhaps less conventional vocalist is needed.

Feel My Love - This one is nice. Not setting me alight but altogether very listenable.

No More Tears - Started a little bit promising, even though I can't bear his voice, but the chorus is so so so bland and basic.

Dangerous (SOS) - I really like this! Such a catchy chorus. Sounds a bit like Katy B with a more R&B twist. I could see this doing quite well in Vienna.

The Right Way - This is indeed very nice, but it would fail to make an impact in Vienna.

Sound of Colours - Just no.

Take My Love - Meh, this one is average.

Factory Hearts - This is interesting. I think this would definitely be one that would grow on me a whole lot. It may need a revamp though.


...so Skestu or Dangerous (SOS), or maybe Factory Hearts for me. What a low quality selection...

Well I've Listened to the songs and ranked them like this:

- "Say You Love Me"
- "Skestu"
- "Not Perfect"
- "Factory Hearts"
- "Feel My Love"
- "This Time"
- "No More Tears"
- "The right way"
- "Dangeros (S.O.S)
- "Take My Love"
- "Es Tut Mir Nicht Leid"

Overall I'm not particularly blown away by any of these, I like the top 4 equally but really I don't expect a decent position for Lithuania this year either.

I really love "Sekstu" but come on, the instrumentation is a Massive Attack's "Teardrops" rip-off.
I'm going to root for "Take my love", i can see an awesome dark staging for this one.

For me, it should be either Dangerous, Take my love or This time. But would have loved more choice in lithuanian..
Es tut mir nicht leid is probably the worst one, but could find its fans.... Hopefully they are not too numerous.

I agree with many that this bunch of songs are better than earlier Lithuanian NF-songs, but I must say also that they aren't that great. It is one song that really stands out, that gives a little "Lithuanian-feeling" to it, like the dark verses in "Love Is Blind" and Sasha Sons "Love" also had. It is "Take My Love". Would love to see this with a voice, close to the guy singing with as you say a dark performance, but still something has to happen, some modern dancing or something to make the song more alive. But I do know Lithuania right, then they will blew it once again, giving us a weird show or a snoozefest.

I don't like Take My Love, would probably come off looking and sounding like a cheesy 00s entry on the ESC stage. And Factory Hearts... interesting idea, I guess, but it's just too plodding. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates This Time, the hellspawn of banjo pop and sensitive guy music. But I still expect it to be hugely popular.

I'm disappointed that there hasn't been any Lithuanian electronica in ESC, that's what I think of when I think of Lithuanian music. Skestu is closest, but like I said, I doubt it will win.

Not Perfect is ahead, really? I think it sounds so embarrassing compared to the Lithuanian version (but I don't know, maybe it sounds embarrassing in Lithuanian too, I'm not a native speaker.) It also wasn't good live (performance at 3:43) in the first place :?
