My Reviews.
Show 1
1. MIA – 7.5/10 – Boring song but decent vocals. Would have preferred a ballad from MIA.
2. Reda – 7.6/10 – Only slightly better than MIA, but that’s thanks to the intriguing song. In Eurovision I doubt she would qualify.
3. Edgaras – 6.6/10 – That beat is very familiar. He reminds me of Ben Haenow… a Lithuanian version of him, anyway. Maybe a slightly duller version too. Meh.
4. Monika - 8/10 – I was sad to see Monika leave at only 4th last year: she looks like a really nice person, haha. In a way I want her to win but I really want MIA to, too. Her vocals have gotten a lot better since last year (even then they were very good) however she sounds slightly nervous.
5. Tadas – 7.7/10 – Nice looking guy with very decent vocals! I didn’t expect this type of song from him, judging him by his looks. Somewhat dull choice nonetheless yet he has a good voice.
6. Wilma La - 3/10 – She is Australian? Either way her vocals are completely flat and shaky, oh good grief! Kudos for playing the piano, but darlin’ this is a song contest.
7. Rolikai – 8.7/10 – Ooh, an interesting opening! Like the quirky, Bublé vibe they have going on, although I hate Michael Bublé. Slightly shaky vocals but that’s nothing to worry about so early on for a new group. Something like this would be refreshing for Eurovision, especially from a country like Lithuania.
8. Liepa – 8.2/10 – Very relaxing voice: could not be more different from the act just before. I’d love to see a ballad like this for Lithuania, something similar to Et Uus Saaks Alguse, just with slightly more stronger moments to get a few douze points. What is she wearing, by the way?! Love it when people speak in songs. Strong.
9. Vaidas – 7.8/10 – Like Monika, I expect something good from Vaidas. So far he hasn’t let me down: decent start. Hmm, a brilliant voice but again another slightly dull song until the middle eight where it picks up gently. I expect to better from Vaidas in later weeks. Last year ‘Dying’ by Vaidas could have gone far in Eurovision.
10. Milita – 8.3/10 – She is singing Only Love Can Hurt Like This next week, if she ruins it I will never support her. Lithuanian Zara Larsson? Mhm, she’s got a good voice on her – like the na na na nas! She does them well, anyway. I just wish she wasn’t singing such a slow song… Right, her hitting those high notes has impressed me. Well done! One to watch with the televoters here.
11. Jurgis – 8.8/10 – Um, nice dancing? Don’t like his trousers but his voice is quite charming and reminds me of Donny Montell; a more grown up version. I really like this! Musically it’s just okay, he just has something about him that brings it up a notch.
12. Neringa – 7.4/10 – Final one of the night. Let’s end on a high note, literally. Another dreary song: I would have loved better songs tonight overall, but I guess it’s sort of a classics night since the singer can choose. Could have picked something better, she’s got a good voice in her somewhere. Just got to let it out.
Standouts: Milita, Rolikai, Tadas, Jurgis. Four new comers, interestingly. Not necessarily highest scorers.
Worst of the Night: Wilma La. Awful. Simply awful.
Who I predict to win it all: Milita.
