The last phrase of the song -Che sei il mio unico grande amore- will be only once, not twice.

But there's a danger on what you're doing. You do know what people think about the different songs prior to the show. Don't you get even a little bit influenced to certain songs because of the expectatives you have?

Sorry I'll be off-topic again  Actually no, I'm not influenced in any way by the comments I read here: firstly because there are always love/hate comments in every thread, secondly because my taste differs quite often from lots of members, so as much as I respect everyone's opinions, I don't take them for granted since I take a step back regarding it. For instance, many people bashed "Maybe" last year, so I had low expectations but in the end I simply loved it. On the contrary, there may be let downs like "Gravity" that was praised like hell and that I just found ok, but no one influences me, I can like a song or not no matter how liked/disliked it is. To keep it short: I may be influenced until I listen to the actual songs, if that makes any sense .

It's funny because this year (as every year), I don't know if it'll be the worst or the best edition ever  people are so pissed off by the giant amount of ballads that I don't know what to expect. Fortunately, we kinda all agree about 2012 being one of the best years recently and 2013 one of the weakest.

In order to relate my post to the thread  I hope the cut version won't sound too weird or repetitive without the second verse. As I said earlier, they should have cut the pre chorus "Dimmi perché quando penso..." but whatever. At least I expect a few seconds of music before they repeat the whole chorus right after the other.

They have made also another change, at the end of the song. ;)

Not really sure about it... I mean, there's a couple of possibilities:

1. some of the instrumental intro has been saved
2. the intro has been entirely cut while "che sei il mio unico grande amore" still stays double.

Apart from the new spanish version,

I always like Italian songs since 2011. This year I have a feeling that this will be one of jury's fav :it:

I'm still praying this pulls off the victory xpray

Its the best chance we have for a non-English winner in quite some time xup and since the chances of those are becoming more rare with every passing year its best to take the opportunity now ;)

PLUS, maybe I'm a little bit unfair to say this but if Italy doesn't win this year, so they won't win anymore.

Well, no, you're not unfair... If we don't win this time, with this group of international artists born in Italy, I don't know... When and how. In Sanremo there was nobody else with their curriculum, with the exception of Lara Fabian as she has a longer career. It was difficult to win, for them, because Italians have taste for foreign music, but come on... We are not going to win with some song inspired to Brit pop or something similar. The original is better than the copy. I believe the only kind of music Italy can be successful with is that one coming from melodic Italian tradition. Operatic pop is coming from this tradition. Other things may seem fake, not inspired, not natural.

I don't agree with the fact that anyone's chances to win are bigger if one sends someone known internationally. Look at Bonnie Tyler's and Cascada's failure... Noa didn't do well either. Patricia Kaas was saved by the juries, otherwise she would have been way lower. And with juries you never know: Blue was indeed popular with televoting but the juries killed them since the performance was awful. After your comeback, you reached some great places with artists who weren't known but in Italy so, keep on sending who you think is best every year in San Remo without caring about how big the artist is abroad since obviously the song prevails in most cases.

Had you sent Lara this year, she would have failed miserably since "Voce" is bad.

I agree though that you shouldn't become a Denmark and start sending inoffensive standard pop to please your ego (or sell your soul) for one night. Just stay true to yourselves, we've already enough broadcasters that think travesties are the only way to go these days.
