Although I preferred Sweden's entry to Italy's, I think Italy was the true winner this year. Juries were supposedly introduced to reduce block voting, but the block voting was largely still very apparent last night, and a country which benefits little from block voting lost out on a victory. I would certainly be annoyed if I had spent money voting for Italy. Maybe the 50/50 system should be modified next year to give the televoting more weight.

Please, don't compare Sanremo to ESC, are two different world thank GOD, except that ESC was born on Sanremo stamp.
Sanremo has a totally different system of selection: demoscopic jury 30% expert jury 30% and 40% televoting.

Sanremo has a totally different system of selection: demoscopic jury 30% expert jury 30% and 40% televoting.

2011 if you exclude San Marino's jury results from the televote column, with them the winner is the same

Still Sweden is the official winner of the 60. Eurovision Song Contest - there is no doubt at all, listing some numbers will not change anything. All participating countries agreed on the current voting system and Italy was even one of the countries that just came back because of the juries. It is how it is, we have to accept that.

I'm talking about data. They have advertisement revenues from almost 30 million views from Google, Sweden from less than 5. That's marketing.
And I don't wanna talk about how much money they earn every year, because this should be even more embarrassing to compare.

B E S T P E R F O R M A N C E! Amazing, amazing just amazing. Their performance was flawless.They have the best voices, they have the best song, they were simple the best. They were enough to break the aliance between Greece and Cyprus and that says a lot. The winners of my heart and no one can change that. Congrats for the 3rd place Italy you were awesome

That won't happen. More than 3 million people watched the grand final last night in Italy so obviously there is interest. I'm sure Italian broadcaster will be more than happy to participate next year.

But all those people watched hoping to see Il Volo win, they were 100% behind them. And when they see their act won the televote in a landside and then lost because of some jury that clearly had an agenda in mind I seriously doubt they will be happy.

I wouldn't be surprised if the attitude would be "We sent this great entry and we still didn't win, we lost to some stick man gimmick. If we didn't win now we never will, ESC is crap" It could do more harm then good


And people need to STOP saying Sweden won the televote in 2011 because the official EBU says Azerbaijan did and that's what matters! Unless you want to admit that the EBU isn't being fair

You are being quite rude right now. Sweden did not buy the victory, you have nothing to base your argument on. If you wanna complain about Italy being the real winner then complain about EBU and their jury system. Sweden won fair and square, if Italy deserved it more is another discussion
