Well, sure. Nobody really cares that much when a country finishes 2nd. In 2011, the televoting winner was the actual winner so the situations are not the same.

Sweden won the televote in 2011. If you discount the countries that used 100% juries that is

Whooooo we need to vote what the televoters vote for ...
Didn't mean that, I'm saying the jury's got too much power and influence on the finale score since it should be Europe and its people to decide the winner, not a bunch of "experts". 75/25 should be better than 50/50 imho.

All this complaining about the juries, blah

I loved :it: and I think it should have won. The fact that juries are the responsible factor for the lower positions and put it lower then the tv voters shocks me.
That being said, I still support the 50/50 rule completely. It's the only way to keep complete trash out of the final and give smaller countries without blockvoting like :be: or my little country a chance to get into the final.

What I do agree on is that it has to be made clear what the juries are basing their points on, Italy's performance was flawless they preferred swedens fancy gimmick. Then explain why? Based on what?

Juries kept one of the smaller countries (:cz:) out of the final this year, putting Azerbaijan through in their place.

Also, in terms of Eurovision success, Italy is a far smaller country than Sweden.

It is different. When televoters dont like song they will not vote for it, but it will still receive points from those who voted for the song. Juries can rank favorite 26th on purpose. Like did Lithuania this year with Russia and Iceland with Italy

Or those juries simple didn't like the italian song??? Is it that hard to believe?? If so you are very cocky and full of yourself. All countries, including Italy, knew how the jury voting rules are before contest. Why didn't anyone complain before?? Il Volo didn't even won jury vote in San Remo. So it isn't really strange that esc juries didn't like them that much.

Many people complained since 2009. Italy cant be 26th, just cant! Juries must rank the songs based on quality of song, singing, performance, and not by their personal taste.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that televoters chose this song  Before yesterday I thought most people would not understand this kind of music (we live in Justin Bieber, Nikki Minaj era). Such a classy performance  We need more of this in Eurovision!

Is it even possible to vote without personal taste. I dislike the italian song and performance. It think it's oldfashioned, very static. Is my view worse than your only because that? What's quality of song, singing, performance IS up to every person. It's pretty arrogant to say how other people should vote. Because you think it's the best act in ESC ever it doesn't mean other people think so or need to do that.

Yes and in ESC it's 50/50. Italy know that, so next year you need to pick an act that juries like better.

Perhaps it is the jury wrong and the people right? Time to think about it and change the system. Moreover, I don't see why Italy should go for flat commercial plastic pop when every year sends something different and original. It would be such a boring Eurovision with all the songs alike...

This is scandal! Italy should withdraw and don't come back until the voting procedure is changed.

It's not the juries job to put all the small countries through, its their job to put good songs to the final and let the qualitatively best song win.

In my opinion some small countries like :nl: didn't deserve the final this year, just like :cz:.
I usually disagree when :az: gets to the final, but this year it was well deserved.
My main question is what the criteria awe, that made :se: so much better than :it: in the eys of the juries:
His voice...................................don't let me laugh
Originality of the song?................definately not
Staging.....................................Probably

So that means :se: won because of a gimmick. I'm not saying the song is bad, it's just very bland. Oh well, fits this year i guess

Or juries know better than the people, remember I Vilo didn't won the juryvoting in San Remo either. It wasn't a jury song. What do you mean. Should EBU change the voting system when people don't like the winner? If so they needs to change it every year since there always very disappointed people that complain about the results.

I'm pretty sure if it was the other way round you and other whiners would scream "thank god for the juries that they vote for quality and not swedish gimmick.". The point is, you would complain no matter what. Even in 2012 people complained about Loreen and Euphoria even it win both televoting and juries the same with Denmark. 2013 and Austria 2014. There will always be people against the voting system.
