That was a better song with a melodic chorus.
Yeah. That's what I meant. Francesco was by far no. 1 for a long time and it ended only 6th. And it had less "hates" than Israel. So no, Israel won't win.

I'm really struggling to see the similarities between Italy last year and Israel this year.
I think that's too early to call. It's true, that Francesco last year was a big surprise and an exceptional case of a favorite flopping, but you have other examples of early time favorites who got an overwhelming support in all the polls and finally managed to win, like Loreen, like Alexander Rybak. Just the fact that you are a favorite doesn't explain why a song does or does not win eventually. There are so many other factors, like last year the unique and sudden chance for Portugal to get its first ever win after so many years of trying. Many people supported Portugal also for this, even if the song might only have been second in their ranking or even less. And then the staging, and the overall impression during rehearsal weeks and, and and....
I know right: Italy 2017 is by far the most ESC-tailored song ever made, while Israel 2018 is among the most daring, original and innovative songs that ESC has ever seen
That's a very bold statement. It's certainly unique but it's nowhere near as daring or original as 'Origo', 'Amar Pelois Dois', or '1944' just to name a few from recent years.
Ups, you named only songs by male artists. That's not the way to get into Gianluca's heart
Nah, I made sure to include '1944' to try and appease them
