Copied my comments from the other forum:

Þú leitar líka að mér - This is so cute, the vocals, the music, so charming.
Piltur og stúlka - The singer's voice reminds me of their 2007 entrant, sort of sounds like something we'd hear in the 90s in eurovision, very powerful, probably not a good thing for eurovision, but I like it nonetheless.
Myrkrið hljótt - This is quite lovely as well, sounds to me like another song we'd hear in esc 15-20 years ago which I quite enjoy.
Í síðasta skipti - His voice is very pleasant and so is the song, but as the song continues I lost interest in it.
Í kvöld - Continuing the line of the semi final, such a charming song with the focus over the Icelandic language her soft voice.
Augnablik - I'm afraid the r&b drums touch in this song doesn't help it being quite forgettable.

Out of this semi final I'd like Hinemoa, Björn og félagar and Elin to qualify

Milljón augnablik - Sounds alreadt vastly different from the songs in the first semi final this is more like those indie-folk-rock-whatever that has swept the world for the past few years, it's a nice song overall, don't have anything much more to say about it.
Lítil skref - so far the most modern production I've heard in the national final, I like how the verses build up, the chorus is a bit underwhelming but overall it's one of my favorites.
Fyrir alla - I expected much worse than this very disco-influenced and very current imo as well!
Fjaðrir - Oh this is the clear standout in this selection loving it!
Brotið gler - This started well but went quite downhill fast, very forgettable.
Aldrei of seint - Loved her previous nf entry, this one is very nice as well, the language does wonders to the song as well.

And out of this semifinal I'd like Cadem, Sunday and Regina/Maria to qualify

Such a great national final, well done Iceland xheart and any translation of the song to English would be a crime.

Listening through the songs, first semi is filled with ballads :? The first song, "Þú leitar líka að mér" is the best there I think, the rest are decent ballads, but is too many to be sure which is the best...

The 2nd semi is better! CADEM is so much Icelandic Alcazar, but I like their song!, guess the guy is only singing now cause the other girls are swedes and can't speak icelandic  But wow, Fjaðrir is one hell of a song that I never expect to hear in Söngvakneppnin. Wonder how that song will look on stage and if the Icelandic will vote for it, cause it is a good song, but I wonder if they dare to send it to Vienna. But then again I wonder if they would work in ESC...I doubt it.. :(

Well I am not totally conviced this time either for Iceland, but they made it to 15th anyhow last year, so it might work in the end! :D

:is: Dont ever leave Eurovision! xbow xbow xbow

Iceland will never dissapoint me, Its such a musical country. I basically like al the songs. I don't have a clear favourite yet, but I have no doubt that Iceland will be high in my top again this year. All the songs sound so professional, emotional and are just filled with high quality music. After a first listen this would be my favourites, but this can easily change over time.
1. Stefanía Svavarsdóttir - "Augnablik"
2. Haukur Heiðar Hauksson - "Milljón augnablik"
3. Regína Ósk "Aldrei of seint"
4. HINEMOA -"Þú leitar líka að mé
5. Bjarni Lárus Hall - "Brotið gler"
6. María Ólafsdóttir - "Lítil skref"
7. Elín Sif Halldórsdóttir - "Í kvöld"
8. Friðrik Dór - "Í síðasta skipti"

P.S. Please keep the song of whoever wins this year in Icelandic, it sounds soo much better that way ;)

I love that this year we are not listening to these traditional eurovision songs. We needed something fresh, something different, and for me that is the song Fjaðrir by Sunday in Semifinal 2, that is, if they do well live. :p

Wait - hang on. Is RUV doing a "ballad bracket" and an "up-tempo bracket" so that at least three of each end up in the final? Brilliant! Now if only any of them were really good!

Edited after listening to Regina Osk's song: I hate to admit it, mostly because I didn't like "This Is My Life" at all, but Regina Osk's song is, in fact, really good.

So wowed by the very ethnic, interesting vibe to their songs. Really like it! Could make them stand out at Eurovision! I don't come across to say that I cross my fingers for "Piltur og stúlka" because Hafrun was in The Voice Of Germany and became one of my favourites! :/ :D Not the biggest fan of the song though.
Other than that the second semifinal has a lot of great songs! Good luck ;)

Piltur og Stúlka - ballads like this I heard very often but I think it could work well
Þú leitar líka að mér - different, I like the trumpets, but it doesn't convince me though
Í síðasta skipti - disappointing song from Friðrik Dór
Augnablik - I like the rhythm
Myrkrið hljótt - Great voice, powerful song but somehow boring
Í kvöld - cute girl with a cute voice, but is it presentable on stage?

SF2
Millljón augnablik - another 'augnablik' song.. at the beginning I thought this has potential but later on it became boring
Lítil skref - very modern for Söngvakeppnin but I like this song
Fyrir Alla - I think they could do a great show and I like the girls. Don't actually like this kind of music, but the song might grow on me.
Fjaðrir - interesting song... that's all I write so far. Gotta listen to it more often
Aldrei of seint - Like this one!
Brotið gler - unfortunately the chorus is the worst part of the song :(

All in all the Semi Final 2 is more interesting... some kind of songs I didn't expect to participate in the Söngvakeppnin... it seems that there is more variety this year... I like it

I can't do any prediction. The Iceland results are mostly unpredictable :D

I like all of the songs except for Lítil skref. My favorite at the moment is Í kvöld but that could change. Good job, Iceland!

Turquoise = hit
Orange = maybe
Red = no way hosay

Semi 1

Þú leitar líka að mér - Quite interesting. This is an unusual little entry. Something I can only imagine the icelandic giving us. I think I do quite like it.
Piltur og stúlka - I like this. It reminds me of something else I can't quite put my finger on. It's got a lovely sort of "coming together" feeling to it.
Myrkrið hljótt - I wasn't expecting such a big chorus. This sounds overly familiar in parts but I enjoyed it. The chorus really pulls at the heart strings (strangely). I think this is good.
Í síðasta skipti - Soulful little number. Unsure on first listen. It's ok.
Í kvöld - Sweet but far too twee for my tastes. Nicely done for what it is though.
Augnablik - The music is lovely with this one but I don't like how the beat kicks in. I thought we were going to get a nice quality ballad but the percussion ruins it somewhat. It's still pleasant though, but nothing i'd go crazy for.

Semi 2

Milljón augnablik - Mixed feelings on this one. I keep thinking i'm going to hate it whilst I was listening but it's constantly going to unexpected places. I'm still unsure though.
Lítil skref - Too commercial sounding for me. Don't like her voice either.
Fyrir alla - I can see the Alcazar comparison but I find this sort of boring sadly.
Fjaðrir - This one is interesting. It's not as eargasmic as it could be. It doesn't go to the places I was hoping but I like it... and now it has gone somewhere all of a sudden xheat This one is great.
Aldrei of seint - Ok, has not got me excited though.
Brotið gler - This one is pretty cool. I like the chorus and the verses have got a nice groove.

Nice-ish selection of songs with some pretty good ones. I'd say that Fjaðrir probably have the most interesting composition here.

The piano and strings in the very beginning of Myrkrið hljótt give me chills, so beautiful those first 15 seconds. The rest is good as well, though it's quite traditional ESC stuff with the powerful chorus and transposition at the end and all - but I don't mind, it sounds good. Might be a good choice.

Could "Aldrei of seint" be the song that unites this site completely?
