I don't know about this. The song is okay, but also very forgettable. I predict a very low placement on the scoreboard. 4 points.

One of my least favourite German entries for some time :( But I feel bad to even have an opinion against it or her under the circumstances.

Well, I hope for a Top 20 placement, with a good perforance and some good publicty maybe even Top 15. Not more. She is quite likeable, a bit like Lena. That could help her to get some points.

BTW: I'm giggling about the lyrics of Black Smoke: "Cause we're fighting for something that we don't want. Just leave it now and walk away." When Andreas Kümmert heard these lyrics he was just like: "Damn, that's true, screw eurovision!" :D

The NF was called 'Unser Song für Österreich' (Our Song for Austria) so i think they should have searched for a fitting singer for 'Heart of Stone'. Andreas Kümmert would have just been the Songwriter then.

Please NO. The song became only mentionable because of the performance of Andreas. It is a useless piece of music that lacks especially originality.

I loved your signature pic!
BTW, right now i'm watching Laing's performance for Wechselt die Beleuchtung and thinking, why did Germany choose a loser and a jazz version of Lena for superfinal? That song had everything Eurovision needed! I'd love to listen it in German and rooting for Germany but whatever, Black Smoke is another song in the middle.

I still don't feel anything for this song, I just simply can't like it. But I hope she can do well, she seems nice enough under the circumstances. A lot of pressure is on her shoulders really.

Yay, I'm finally back from my six months abroad with no internet and, of course, right in time for Eurovision. I'm so happy I could burst!
Now I really, really have to catch up on all the songs and since I already saw the drama in the German final when I came back, this is the best way to start:

and oh boy, what a bummer. Why did the German televoters choose this, I mean behind Mr. I obviously don't care or give a c**p??? Why?
It's not a bad song by any means, and I would probably like it more, were it not for her incredible squeaky voice. The live performance is simply to much of what everybody would expect ''Jazz'' to sound like. Argh. Really, why?
Powerful screaming choruses are only good, if you actually have a clean, good voice and I'm afraid on my first listening (especially the beginning of the song), I absolutely hated her voice and tone. The song itself is not that bad on repeated listenings but the voice... argh...

And now I'm kinda caught up with the other participants. Laing would have been so much better... but alas, I have to go with what we got. So average I'd say for Ann Sophie. 6 points.

Now onwards to the other countries and their songs!

Well you did not miss that much when it comes to Eurovision. It's kind of like: If you heard one song, you heard them all (with exceptions) :D
But anyway: welcome back xwelcome

Thanks!
:) I know I skipped the 'dry' period and that I'm lucky I'll be here just in time. I actually arrived when the German NF was airing but had to miss/skip it since I couldn't force my friends/ flatmates to watch it the very first evening I was back. (Social life... what a bummer :D)
The songs, well, I still need to give them time/room to grow. Who knows, maybe Ann Sophie will decide to sing more 'naturally' and maybe I'll like our 'selection' better, but alas.

this whole drama has been hilarious to follow, as for the winning song let me say this.... you have one little chubby guy with no charisma at all, to thank for saving you from a whole lot of embarrassment in vienna.
