MRW it came out Ann Sophie won even when she didn't:

That would have totally been me if I still had been in the arena in that moment :D There were Kümmert-Fans all around me but YOLO

That whole talk "Well, you shouldn't force the artist".....YES, YOU SHOULD. You signed up for it and you need to finish what you started. Quitters are a pet peeve of mine. They need to introduce a rule similar to Eurovision, where if an artist decides to withdraw they'll have to pay a hefty fine.

Imagine me as a life guard trying to save a person that is about to drown in the ocean. Halfway on my way I turn around and say "You know what? I quit". You just don't do that. Yes, my example may be a bit more dramatic but you get my point.

I don't think you can compare it as it's not only important that it is done but how it is done. And because performing is something you can't separate from your feelings. For getting the best possible placing, you need an artist who gives everything on stage, who is really behind everything he does. And an artist how can handle all the interviews, attention and promotion work beforehand. I have nothing against a fine, but I really don't think that an artist who is our representative by force would be a good representative. Especially with everything seeming a mental problem of Andreas with dealing with all the stuff around and the pressure. My contract can say what it want, I can tell myself what I want, doesn't mean that my mind will be "obedient".

Furthermore, one of the main accusations against him is "Why didn't he step back earlier?". Now it's at least early enough for Eurovision. What does it help if he would make the retreat in May two days before the final because he realizes that he just can't deal with everything? It's better to accept your misjudgment of yourself now than at a later point where it gets even more problematic.

I don't understand a single word but I guess they're talking about the Greece/EU joke... well, we won't see points from Greece to Germany this year I suppose.

Nothing new, I guess;-) Sad they don`t understand a joke. It is just dark humor.

Well no. Everyone would say that this song sucks, but it will get a revamp to make the production sound better and an awesome stage show so it will be ok in the end. As it is Germany, I do not think the song will be improved at all.[/

It depends. I love the song how it is. It is about the music, not about the visuals, naked dancers or what the hell else.
Ukraine and other eatern european countries have shitty songs very often, maybe the performance gets them a higher ranking, but it still sucks. No one can tell me many of their songs were voted because of music.

Andreas survived the entire "The Voice" process and the second after he won the German NF, he realized he can't do it? He had plenty of exposure and he clearly made a hasty decision which he may regret (or already is). He should have probably kept his mouth shut and think about his options for a couple of days.

One thing that bothers me a lot about artists like Andreas is that sometimes you have to get past your own selfishness. His decision to withdraw affect his fans, the people who paid and voted for him, his management team, his record label etc. So the whole "Oh, my poor feelings" stuff I get a little bit tired of. Just imagine me doing that at my job. And I don't buy the whole performing is so different excuse. I studied at the School of Performing Arts and did plenty of theater and other work and sometimes you have to do what you have to once you committed to something.

Basically they're saying that it's an extreme provocation and it offends Greece. They say it's a propaganda that makes all Europe think that Greeks are lazy and don't want to work. They also say that there are many Greeks in Germany who actually work hard and thus contribute to Germany's economy.
And I totally agree with them, it was a really disgusting joke!

People that watched in Iceland are all in shock, no one seems to like the song here.

And what was that man thinking? Why sign up to a contest and then decide that you're not ready? He should've just celebrated victory and taken this as a big obstacle, instead of just running away.

I don't want to loose our NFs, even though NDR made so many mistakes with song choices and promotion and the concept is maybe not the best, both 2014 and 2015 were fun to watch.

I liked very much 2014 and 2015! In these two years the german NF has become my favourite Eurovision selection, I love it. I hope they will go on with this maybe with something different in the concept and the voting system.

I don't think NDR choose bad songs. According to me your selection is actually the best, so various and different (Elaiza, Marie Marie, Laing and Fahrenhaidt my favs! xlove), there are many good songs to hear and select.

At least Germany will be represented by a singer on the Eurovision stage who is willing to dress for the occasion. The outcome could have been worse: Kümmert could have actually wanted to sing there.

Humour about politics has no place in a music festival...especially when we're talking about a country that has to face so many problems. I know people over there don't really know how things are over here but, you know, when I don't know if I'll get my next paycheck or not, and when Grexit seems to be closer than ever, it's not easy to laugh at such a joke. People are scared over here...and jokes like that scare us even more.

I've listened to the song again and I'm sorry Germany, I don't like it at all. You had way batter songs in your NF. I can't have any complainments to you, because you've chosen the better song in the Superfinal, though.

This is the problem with Germany.
Every year they have good songs in their NF, and they pick the wrong one.
Its the 3rd time in a row that this happens.
Not that its a bad song.
But they allways have better options.

She has this energy on stage that makes you kind of .. uncomfortable somehow. She feels disorganised on stage and her singing is a bit annoying

Moving through Germany
I finally saw some videos, Fahrenhaids performance was as awful as expected, the girl can't sing. Breathteakings, cryings and wrong tones everywhere, sorry that's not worth enough, some other countries have to understand this as well. I'm happy they didn't pass the first round, because I had the fear the fans won't see that and will still vote for it to the superfinal win.

But unfortunately Faun had also a terrible performance, I don't who had the idea, but Sonja (the woman) was overtuned and misplaced in the verses and the acoustics sucked. It seems like their not made for such big stages, even though I wished they've done it, 'Hörst Du Die Trommeln' was the best song of the evening.

So from my three favourites, I have to confess that I liked 'Mother Earth', at least Alexa made it to the 2nd round. Didn't expect that, so I hope she will take the profit of the evening and be quite successful, I'm in love with 'Das Gold Von Morgen'.

I don't know why, but I had the feeling that Andreas won't take the ticket, if he'll win it, since he have problems with popularity, so I always wondered why he took part in competition. The only problem I have with his decision is, that now Ann Sophie will represent us. I can't stand her songs and I had the hope the wildcard will fail in first round this year. Even Laing would've been better than, but out of the three remaining women Alexa had the best songs, but imo no one had an entry that will lead into a good result in Vienna.

Ok. I understand that. I just wanted to make sure she tells jokes about every person, even about herself. She has nothing against Greeks.
