When I read the comments below the You Tube videos I think I'm one of the few German people who really like her song. It's the same procedure as every year: The Germans hate their song and they say 'We will end in last place' x0s
This makes me angry X-OI The song has a catchy chorus and nice lyrics!! xheya I'm proud she represents our country. xyes

Greetings from Thuringia xwave
So you are one of the few (21,3 %) who actually voted for her ;) AND WELCOME TO THE FORUM xballon

But what would have happened if we had got to have heard someone else's second song? What would have happened if we'd had a different person competing with Ann Sophie in the superfinal? None of this is her fault but it's a ridiculous situation. It's not so much the public i'm sorry for, who i'm sure can all apply for a refund. It's the artists who have essentially had a raspberry blown at them by Andreas. They've wasted months of their time and have been shafted by a time waster who didn't even want to be there. Someone else should have been in that superfinal, and anything could have happened.

Thank you cassio !xthank

Besides Andreas would have won I think the WildCard winner has the higher chance to win the preselection because the people heard his/her song for a couple of weeks and maybe people have to hear the song 4 or 5 times to adore it!
I think the better option for next year is that only known artists will compete (like Mark Forster (who performed last night) or other famous singers) or a casting show like "Unser Star für Oslo" in which unknown people compete.

I agree, Andreas took it all and he .... not the voters .... decided who won, without giving the other contestants a chance to be in the superfinal and thereby letting the voters decide ........ that not the nicest thing Andreas has done .........

Actually, the voters decided who was going to the superfinal along with Andreas. It was Ann Sophie, but it could have been anyone else. They all had equal chances.

For which song would those 78,7% have voted if Kummert had not participated at all???

To be fair, nothing was stopping anyone to vote for somebody else, people could've voted for both Kummert and perhaps x so I think Ann Sofie going is the most logical

The "Unser Star für" worked very well for Germany, however I think that the "Lena" effect has shown that there are both a lot of fans and artists who are interested in ESC and a German NF. A Big Final like what we saw yesterday is more like the concept we have in Denmark and Norway......... How ever I would like to se a change in the wildcard koncert into a one or two semifinals..... but thats a personal taste ....... I don't think there is someting wrong with a superfinal in the final, however I think that there is someting wrong with an artist if he by entering af competition don't want to win!!

It didn't matter who was in the final with Andreas, every one would win when Andreas declined his first place

The superfinal always brings up anti-voters. One could weaken that effect by just letting 3 artist/songs pass to the superfinal. Anyway, for now I feel like we won't see a German National Final next year - it's likely that NDR will just choose artist and song after this disaster!

Btw... NDR just announced that they will not release the results of every round due to respect towards the artists ... It has only been revealed that Kümmert was winner in all three rounds and Ann-Sophie was 2nd in all three rounds

Sleeping one night and thinking about the outcome today I have to say, that I'm very happy for Andreas Kümmerts decision.
There are so many things for what you can get points on stage. The voice is in my opinion one of the weaker aspects.

When you compare the winning songs with each other then there are mostly three different aspects:
The voice, the look of the artist (charisma) and the overall stage design
Only when all aspects are equally implemented you'll have a chance of a high position at the end.
For me the artist is the biggest aspect. Andreas Kümmert himself isn't a man who can get much votes in this category.
His biggest advantage is the voice but that's seriously not enough.

Ann Sophie has all the aspects:
- she looks nice
- she has charisma and plays with the cameras
- she has a good voice (not everyones taste)
- she has a well produced and catchy song

In the first round I was rooting for Fahrenhaidt, but after the performance I knew that the song lacks something.
So I decided to vote only a few times for it because it was chanceless against the other stronger artists.

All in all we could be satisfied that no ballad has won the contest, so we might get a slightly better position at the end in the wide field of ballads this year.
After the official video is released and the first reactions fade away, we could be proud of Ann Sophie although she got only 1/5 of the final votes.
Black Smoke is a grower for sure and I think that it will be on the left side of the scoreboard.
If another country would send this song under other circumstances e.g. the Ukraine, then everyone would say: "Wow, it's a nice song"

Black Smoke is the best decision that we could made! ;)

Yeah, sorry. But I disagree with every single thing you say.

Well no. Everyone would say that this song sucks, but it will get a revamp to make the production sound better and an awesome stage show so it will be ok in the end. As it is Germany, I do not think the song will be improved at all.
