I didn't mix up anything. Your claim was that Blue is more famous than Julio Iglesias or Olivia Newton John (just some examples). Maybe in the UK but you cannot speak on behalf of the rest of the continent (or world).
Well, is Cascada's entry "imported" though? I do get your point though, but sending "crappy" efforts is not good either.I beg to differ here. Sending imported entries in foreign languages IMHO is worse than making own albeit crappy efforts.

Plus Olivia Newton John, Celine Dion, Julio Iglesias. Also this year Esma is representing Macedonia and she is known as the queen of gypsy music in the world. The most famous artists to have ever graced the Eurovision stage:
1. ABBA
2. Blue
3. Cascada/Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber
Maybe in the UK... Blue are not that known in the rest of Europe, only to the ones that happened to be around when they were having some cross- European hits (like our age)... but that's about it.
You did mix up though Matt you thought I meant popular by famous.
I don't know how the Show looked on TV or on the Computer but I can tell you that it was a great feeling live! Great Atmosphere, Great Audience, Great Stage and so on
And by the way Anke was almost next to me 2 times
I'm confused. Are you saying "Glorious" was written by someone from the Netherlands? I assumed it was written by Cascada themselves and they're all from Bonn afaik.I think it's Dutch?
I agree with this, which is why I was hoping LaBrassBanda or Mia Diekow would win. I can live with Cascada though. For me ESC ideally ought to be about 'representing' a country's musical landscape and that 'import strategy' is simply killing this concept way more than not so good yet local entries. See, the rest of the Big-5 (in particular the BBC) are facing lots of criticism because their entries aren't über trendy or highly qualitative although they have obviously improved compared to the noughties. German NDR, on the other hand, is receiving rave reviews with their bought songs. In my opinion, however, they're the one acting the least decent of all.
