She was only known in neighbouring countries... Her Mylène farmer were plaied on teenage radios at the time because it was Mylène Farmer covers... Her biggest hit is still the cover of "Désenchantée". But... she might be at the time one of the few "international" flemish acts, hence a so-called fame...

Wrong... Kate Ryan was known in whole central- Europe aswell as in the Nordic countries. I think also in Eastern Europe (more so than Cascada atleast).

You know that Cascada's biggest hits were also covers right (except for Evacuate)... so there's not much difference from Kate there.

Atleast here in Sweden I'd say Kate was almost as "big" as Cascada was in terms of radio plays atleast.

But we don't know the original songs they are covering ! :D

I must say I've forgotten their early hits as it's not the music I listen to in the real world... lolol
But well at least they had "Evacuate". They are almost the only german act known in France... Though they aren't on TV or so in France for real...

It's been a good choice... but a predictable result. She's been such a famous singer and she has already a lot gained, although the song is not strong enough.

Really ! So we were so many to have this unluck ! :D
BTW to end it, Je t'adore was not very good and live vocals were too weak. Add to that the frame of the semi-finals at the time were quite unfair... They were tougher than the real final and 2006 was the real example, with an aweful final and a far better semi with good entries not making it. While we had international shame with off-tune Il était temps ! aaaah ! :D

That's because you're French, most people here are not aware of Mylene Farmer so atleast here the Cascada covers were more known...

LoL And here's the contrary. Had Kate Ryan covered someone unknow in France, she would never enter French radios. BTW, radios have to broadcast 75% songs in French so she fulled the thing... Cascada began to be aired because they had number one in lots of countries. Our radios always follow the fashion. We know artists when they are not known anymore outside. We just have discovered who is Niwki Minaj ! hahahaha

I fully support your radio language rule! ;)

The most famous artists to have ever graced the Eurovision stage:
1. ABBA
2. Blue
3. Cascada/Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber

On late years, because before that you had Julio Iglesias, Nana Mouskouri and so on. And don't forget Patricia Kaas, Alla Pugacheva, Valentina Monetta... Hum am I mistaking ! :D Sakis also tried to do something in France at a time so I guessed he was more known somewhere as we have a difficult market...

But it's a great publicy for Eurovision to have this very famous act ! :)

It might not be the most original song ever, but Cascada will surely get a top 10 placing. I don't get some of the hate posts here.

I imagine they're worried that their favourites have just become like 10 times less likely to win over the last few hours! ;)

Blue??? Seriously?

I don't know about you but I think Celine Dion was slightly bigger than them....and Olivia Newton John...and Julio Iglesias...etc
Okay I forgot Celine Dion. But you ask people about the other two, I wouldnt say the majority of people under a certain age have heard of them tbh.

Everybody knows who Blue are, that's the mark of fame. You confuse fame with popular. Take an example from elsewhere, George W Bush is soooo famous, is he popular? Im guessing you'd say no ;).

You said famous....not popular or known....and then you're only looking at people your age group. Imagine people in their 30s, 40s or up. A lot of them never heard of Blue.

I know I said famous - it's you that's got mixed up not me. I dont think so, most grannies know who Blue are, both mine Grandma's know Blue and they're 81 and 89 :p. Admittedly they wont have heard of Cascada, which is why I put them third.

Maybe in the UK... Blue are not that known in the rest of Europe, only to the ones that happened to be around when they were having some cross- European hits (like our age)... but that's about it.
