Absolutely! I like the song with Emilie better, but Surie did a wonderful Job when stepping in. I hate the UK song, but Surie has the wrong song. She has a great voice and deserves better.

I don't like this English version of Mercy. And Surie is a bit out of tune at some parts..

As a French myself, I don't quite understand the support this song receives. A place between 15th and 20th would be fair for "Mercy" imo, as it's a middling effort to me.

You must be totally disconnected from your feelings - this song gives me the same vibes as 1944 & Amar pelos dois gave me.

As those songs were special and did well in the end. And it seems like the majority shares your opinion anyway. "Mercy" gives me "Apollo" vibes: pretty nice to listen to when it plays, but low-key boring and hardly memorable in hindsight because it sounds so ordinary.
I'm glad Madame Monsieur won our NF because they were one of the two convincing acts we had (and I couldn't stand "Eva"
), but my enthusiasm ends here, since their entry doesn't stir anything in me.One of the songs that is hard to judge for me. In the beginning I didn't like it all, then it grew on me, but not enough to be among my top 10. But it's still a song that is memorable and is nowhere near what you would call a bland song (and we have some of These this year!). The song is not great, but good.
I do respect your state of mind as usual, but
may be among the top-favourite acts to win the whole thing. Who knows?
