Re: FRANCE 2018

I don't get it.

Well I get it for the french viewers but how do you change things and make something new if you're doing exactly what the others shows are doing ?

What do you mean?

Re: FRANCE 2018

I didn't know that Lisandro had portuguese origins. I realized that after a search in wiki.
About the competing entries, i'm not elated tbh but OK ou KO seems like a really cool tune that Eurovision would appreciate. Better than Mercy which i found it very unnatural.

I find it odd you are surprised that a guy called Lisandro Cuxi has Portuguese origins.

Neither of those names are used much in Portugal, at all actually. Especially Cuxi. That name actually comes from Cape Verde.

DE is a new format, right ? That's very RARE to have a show with new songs and unknown artists (not all are unknown but you get what I mean), this kind of format have to dig is way into the PAF, but IMHO you have to do it all the way, like give us a 100% new show, with a new concept, something fresh and new completely different.

Now they're turning DE into something we already know (= all big music/variety shows are composed with covers and so on, with songs french people already know), that's clever in a "let's save the ratings" view but I don't think it's the right choice, I mean they could have given us an intro ? with something very french ? a Love Love Peace Peace song to make it fun ? , they could have ask somebody to show us their skills (dancers ?) between the last song and the votes ? . That would have been good press for the show : something unexpected that doesn't exist in France yet, something that would make DE very unique. FR2 has that old kind of vibe and this show could break that mold in France and instead they're going to make it more "normal" with what's already existing.

I want them to commit 100% into the national selection format and make it an annual show that everybody want to watch cause it's different.

I get your point, but this is the very first time that they've been airing a NF for a while, just let them improve it 'till next year. ;)

We will have a live stream on our channel after Saturday's show, in case you're interested in joining. I will put the video in the first post as well.

Well I guess we're launching again our last discussion when I was saying that it's not some kind of a rehearsal so you have to do it all the way every time, you get what I mean ? I get the "it's the first time, it's a baby you have to wait for him/her to grow" but for me it's more like an excuse to say "it's not perfect" of course it won't be perfect on the first try but you have to try for real, like the real format as it should be.

It's like you're creating The Voice but you're not so sure about the blind auditions so on the first season, it's not blind just to check if people like the coaching thing, then on second season you put the blind stuff. Like when is the show gonna be as it should be, and next season people will say "but that wasn't like that, last year ? why they're are changing things?" Should we always be "gentle" with the viewers ? Can't we just bring to the table the full realized glamazon ?

Not saying DE is a bad show, of course not, it's great, I'm just kind of whining/complaining about stuff that I think are odd choices.

So what? We're always referring to what I said beforehand, but it's honestly a pretty great national final, there's no need to complain about this at all. Do you really think that everything would've been perfect if they worked a bit more on this? I don't think so.

To my mind, FTV's team did great for a premiere show and there are some things to fix up as always, that's it. They're all ambitious about this national selection, and things could've got way worse than the current whole show that they provided us.

That's what my opinion will be made of for me. ;)

BESIDES (before I forget about this!!), I assume that we shouldn't be as demanding as we all are with Destination Eurovision or whatever, when it was only being launched a few months ago.

The studio version of "Mercy" didn't really get to me at first, but that live performance... this would be a really great representative for France! Even as a non-French speaker, it touches me. The girl's style actually kinda reminds me of Hayley William's current style.

Hence the first place on the betting odds. ;)

Re: FRANCE 2018

Explain please, aside from the fact that his "army of fans" will do anything to assure him the televote win

Well, the televote can already be enough if he gets something like half of the points (210)
And I don't see Madame Monsieur doing great with the jury somehow. Just a feeling.
