So here are my thoughts:

Max Cinnamon: This was a positive surprise in so many ways! Cute song and live performance! For me it stood out with its quiet power...
Igit: OMG I absolutely hate this one!! :? What is this? Such a disturbing song...
Madame Monsieur: Solid song and solid performance although I can see much potential for improvement.
Nassi: The song has potential but I really don't like the singer... Quite a cringeworthy performance last night... :?

So my ranking would be:

1. Max Cinnamon 8/10
2. Madame Monsieur 6/10
3. Nassi 3/10
4. Igit 1/10

I absolutely LOVE OK ou KO, I feel however that it could end up like Black Smoke in Eurovision despite the fact that this song is 1000x better... I don't know why but I just can't see it doing well, maybe the juries will appreciate it but televoters

I think wouldn't have placed that low tbh with the current voting system. "Black Smoke" was amazing.

Where did you see the viewing figures?

Even if I'm glad we have a NF, I knew it was kind of early to organise one. It takes more than two decent placings to change the reputation the contest has in people's minds.

Well hopefully they'll give it another try. Things don't change that wasily in just one year, they need to keep trying

Even if I'm glad we have a NF, I knew it was kind of early to organise one. It takes more than two decent placings to change the reputation the contest has in people's minds.

As I wrote yesterday:

The same goes for Igit and Max Cinnamon, that cute boy is such a fantastic performer…and what a beautiful color of voice..smooth vocal with a bit of sand in it.. …he started a bit afraid, but that even gave some charm to the whole performance..
it was so spontanous and charming..

On the second listening and watching performance, I can’t believe but for some reason I was crying!

So, now you understand, the hype must be because of me!

It's strange you don't like Madame Monsieur – "Mercy"?

I'm curious to find out why you would have thought i'd be into it? I just find the whole thing very plain and basic. Perhaps if I could understand the lyrics there might be some added weight to it (as I read there's a moving story behind it) but for me it's not transcending the language barrier. It sounds like countless other fairly understated electro pop songs, and it's not doing anything to grab me, melodically, sonically speaking, as well as performance wise.

At the same time however i've read comments from people saying the song has moved them to tears, and I respect that. Music hits people in different ways. "Mercy" just isn't something for me. I don't doubt there are strong emotions behind the song, but the piece of music itself feels an unfitting vessel for the message. I listen and I feel nothing.

If French people are touched by this then go for it. From what's left I only like "OK ou KO", and i'm worried about it's chances at the contest. My gut tells me "Mercy" isn't something that would fair particularly well either, but i'd be curious to find out what happens to it if it gets selected. Staging will have to be worked on as it looks a bit naff in the NF.
