Re: FRANCE 2018

You can if you go and play the sims, create them jurors and then burn them to death in a room with no doors or windows.

Good idea. Thank you very much. And then i'll place June The Girl into my special luxury Eurovision house that she'll share with icons such as Amber Bondin, Sofi Marinova and Kaliopi.

Re: FRANCE 2018

The more I listen to "OK ou KO" the more I think it stands out in this final bunch of songs

It's the only one I like. Please win. Although if i'm honest, i'm really unsure if it can do well for France at Eurovision. I think there's something about it that's a lil' bit special (which is why I like it) but I don't know how Europe would take to it.

Let's say that Nassi, Lisandro, M&M and Emmy are the only great entrants that are left. Don't mess it up, I'll cast a vote for each of them.

Moreover, I don't think the reflection of "2 female acts might stand out" that silly. Beware of gurrrrlz.

Don't do that. With those vocals it's bottom-5 confirmed. Yes the song is good but the rest is questionable

It depends on how much he improved. Remember that some artists sounded better at the ESC final whereas they were awful in the semis.

Re: FRANCE 2018

I have just checked entries which passed…as I said before Nassi is a big let down..

Max Cinnamon – “AIlleurs”, Igit – “Lisboa Jérusalem” and Madame Monsieur – “Mercy” are literally AMAZING…all three… I didn’t liek ‘mercy’ when i heard full versin athat much in audio…but peformance lifted it so much and her singing is awesome..

The same goes for Igit and Max Cinnamon, that cute boy is such a fantastic performer…and what a beautiful color of voice..smooth vocal with a bit of sand in it..xlove xheart…he started a bit afraid, but that even gave some charm to the whole performance..
it was so spontanous and charming..

I rank like this in the final:

1. Emmy Liyana – "OK ou KO"
2. Max Cinnamon – "AIlleurs",
3. Madame Monsieur – "Mercy"
4. Igit – "Lisboa Jérusalem"

I will be very satisfied with them winning…with others not so much..

That's great news! The track was available on iTunes Canada as well, so I just downloaded it for my collection

Re: FRANCE 2018

Doesn't seem like the strongest lineup here. Emmy or Lisandro would be decent choices in my eyes, as their songs stand out over some of the alternatives and they've actually got a bit of a presence on stage. A few others aren't bad, but in their current form, just seem to go in one ear and out the other.

Re: FRANCE 2018

I just watched back Madame Monsieur's performance on TV5, it sounded even better on our basement TV than on my laptop! If they stay consistent next week, they've definitely got a shot at winning this thing

Re: FRANCE 2018

Mercy is currently #2 on iTunes France, that's higher than Eva (#5) or OK ou KO (#7) peak last week!

I just watched the whole show back, don't feel like talking about every act so I'll just give my impression about my winner of this NF: Madame Monsieur, a great mid-tempo electro-pop track that is modern but also feels French. The performance was rather quite good, I really was captivated by the bridge and ending senquences HOWEVER I must say I thought the staging was weak, I wanted something more elegant and sophisticated with more a big focus on light, with neons for exemple (something à la Stranger Things with gold/red and blue (sea element) light bulbs).

But anyway, every act has had time to improve their performance for the grand final and I'm sure everything will be more polished. I'm really rooting for Madame Monsieur as Mercy would become my favourite French entry ever but I'll be fine with Emmy Liyanna winning as well, her song is good and she is charimastic.

Re: FRANCE 2018

So I'm still relatively new to Eurovision, this is my 3rd Eurovision season. Also, I live in Las Vegas USA and speak no French, but I've been following Destination Eurovision so closely. I never imagined I'd be this interested in a song contest in a different language.

With that said, I think "Ciao", "Mercy", "Eva" and "OK au KO" would be so amazing in Lisbon, and could easily win for France. And even if they don't win, it'll certainly raise the level of quality of Eurovision.

Re: FRANCE 2018

A very good final selection that France got going here. Hopefully it will translate into a good result at Eurovision as well.

I think the main battle will be between Lisandro and Madame Monsieur, though, and I will be happy with either of them going to Lisbon.

My thoughts:

Lisandro - Eva: 9/10 Excellent song, good vocals. Good stage presence. Nice uptempo entry, albeit a bit stereotypical Eurovision material. But it grabs your attention and stands out. Should be fine going to Eurovision, could end in the top 10. I think this is the best option for France.

Madame Monsieur - Mercy: 9/10 Also excellent, vocally very good. Has a bit more uniqueness than Eva, and is actually quite an interesting entry. Just that last part almost spoils it with repeating Mercy, Mercy, Mercy over and over. I would be fine with this going to Eurovision, expecting a result in the top 10 or midfield.

Malo - Ciao: 8/10 I actually find this quite interesting, once I get past the first part and get used to the funny breathy voice. The song is good, it has a lot of momentum. This guy is a good performer. Excellent song, but vocals need some improvement. Yes, I like this, but that's my personal oddball taste. Not sure how this would do at Eurovision, maybe very well, as in top 5, or may flop completely and be bottom 5 as well. Very much a love/hate song (which is not always a bad thing).

Emmy Liyana - OK ou KO: 6/10 Ok, so this is the big fan favourite then? I fail to see what all the hype is about. Yes, the vocal delivery is good, but the song just doesn't stand out for me. In fact, I find it a bit ordinary. It has got it's good moments, but no, it's not enough to do well at Eurovision. I'd prefer to get off this hype train, please. Bottom 10 at Eurovision.

Max Cinnamon - Ailleurs: 5/10 Even if the song is decent, it ends up being a but unnoticeable. The singer is obviously quite nervous, but manages to deliver well. At times I can almost see a bit of stage personality coming through. I do actually see a bit of potential here. I would give him 3 years to grow up, and give him a better song, and then I would love to see him back here. For this year, I would have to say no.

Nassi - Rêve de gamin: 3/10 The song itself is actually quite good, but this guy should not be singing it. It's a big NO.

Igit - Lisboa Jerusalem: 3/10 This is just too French for me. He sings and performs well. But no, I don't think this will have any mass appeal outside of France and with anybody younger than 40.

Luka - Mamma mia: 1/10 What is this even, and how did this qualify? Bland, forgettable nothingness. Bye!

So in summary, I'm supporting Lisandro and Madame Monsieur, and I would be very happy if either one is chosen. Malo will be my dirty little secret, hoping that it could be a dark horse. Emmy is also a contender, but I don't like it and will be disappointed if she wins. As for the rest, they should just go home.
