Don't get how Malo' made it in, I've never been a Maitre Gims fan (especially with that temper tantrum he threw after he lost to Amir at the 2016 NRJ Music Awards). Lisandro in my opinion is so overhyped it isn't funny (not even Christer could give him 12)
I hope Madame Monsieur does well next week, I really like their song. And if by some strange twist Max Cinnamon makes it, it will be a sure fight for the teen girl vote between him and Lisandro

I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I would have voted for Eva, Mamma mia, OK ou KO, L'un près de l'autre and Ciao. I have to say though, I like Ciao as a song, but the vocals are not a 100% my cup of tea. But, he deserves the final, no question. I hope Louka will improve his vocal stability a bit, but I was really happy, when he made it.
So sorry for Noée! Her song is so sweet.

OK, the live changed my perspective on half of the songs.
First of all, Masoe (my pre-favourite from the semi) was terrible and so was Louka, he didn't deserve to qualify. Second, Lisando, who I thought I wouldn't like, made me cry and was my absolute favourite of the night! 
He and his song remind me a bit of 2014 with András Kállay-Saunders and "Running". I can see why Malo' & Emmy Liyana qualified, but they weren't really my cup of tea. I would've liked to see Noée in the final, guess the French find it too typical and old-fashioned but it was definitely better than Louka. Pheno Men disappointed, and Ehla and especially Enéa went nowhere for me.
Looking forward to the second semi-final and hope none of Igit, Madame Monsieur and Nassi won't disappoint.
PS Pretty disappointed with Isabelle's and Christophe's points - they were almost identical! No surprise though, they were talking to each other the whole time...

This is what ESC really needs....
But I'm afraid of two things...
1. It is too good for this festival, this s World class
It can be ditched like 'Statements" last year...
2. It was only 2nd with jury in the semi final...how it can beat Lisandro Cuxi with televoting in the final then..
I only know that loosing a GEM like this would hurt me a lot...
I repeat, ESC desperately needs quality like this

I really liked Malo', remind me of some Britpop , I guess he was my favorite (and I'm a hardcore pop over produced songs fan). Emmy was better live , the studio version of the song is so bland. Mamma Mia is the worst song of the night like when does it begin ? Sad for Noée that was cute and Ehla but they wouldn't have won either way. Eva was fine I still don't think it's a contender for the crown, it sounds contemporary and scandipo-ish without being as good as them.

We, French people, don't want to win the whole thing so far but to appear as a strong contender all over again in the same way as Belgium to some extent. we're aiming at a top 10 result.

I think she just needs to be more fierce and convinced in her attitude and interpretation, which could be dealt with through rehearsals.
Musically, it was the best song of the night imo. If she happens to be more confident in the final, I'd be happy to see her represent us.
I can't stop watching Emmy Liana's performance...I just miss some great backings to boos it even more...
This is World class..
If she takes the trophy, It will be the best thing that happened to ESC since Loic Nottet from Belgium..

Great show from France 2 television, I enjoyed it even while already knowing the outcome. The jury was great and very objective, I just hoped they hyped less Lissandro but oh well.
Emmy Liyanna performance was outsanding! Not perfect but already very strong, it could shine in Lisbon. Also really appreciated Malo, Ehla and Noée.

I love the way Emmy sang Je Promets. I don't like her song though. Noee grew on me and France missed out on a "French chanson" in the final. Lisandro deserved to win out of this group and I am glad Mamma Mia got through. Can't stand Ciao but it may get the public vote as it's possible they may think it's what the other countries will vote for ( bizarrely). Seems like the studio juries pulled strings for him to qualify. We saw something like this for Spain last year. I only hope there is a better group of songs next week or France are doomed this year.

BTW I saw a lot of people complaining about covers (I did too) BUT #randomfact : Don't ever place a bet on French curiosity, cause french people like what they already know, so a show with half of total unknown singers singing unknown songs is death for the ratings.
