Even if Sognu wasn't bad, I have always found there's a tiny lack of magic concerning this entry.

TBH, I am glad about J'Ai Cherché. You can have the chorus in your head even two days after your last try and it sounds fresh and modern. Amir seems to be a charismatic and very nice guy. I really loved our song last year and her performance made me proud but this new entry has 1000* more chances to bring us a good result.

As for France (and Italy) being again contenders for victory: finally ESC will move to some other place than ex-USSR or Scandinavian state. It would be really great to have ESC next year in Paris. Damn, I bet French would do their best to make it unforgetable :)

OMG "France" and "contender for victory" in the same sentence  Something doesn't work there  Our entry is nice, but I don't think it's strong enough to even trouble the top 5 tbh. Top 10 isn't guaranteed at all either. I'd say top 15 would be realistic and doable, yes. I don't know if France 2 would be a decent host, I mean they know how to organize music shows, but I'm not sure they would blow everyone away for the contest. xthink It's been a long time since the last time

Until we delightfully discover our final starting position (aka 3rd place in the first half between Poland and Russia xqueenbitch) kidding

That's one thing to look forward to. With a stronger entry, the broadcaster are less likely to give you a terrible starting position - something France has been dealt with 3 times in a row.

I've probably jinxed it and you'll go 2 again.

Yeah, I guess they'll give us a break this time, but we never know. Last year, Slovenia (1st), Israel (3rd) or Estonia (4th) were considered strong songs, yet they got terrible starting positions :? Two of them got a top 10 placing nonetheless, but still, we are not those countries, so we may as well flop because of a bad draw (as far as we're concerned) :p.

At least when people say it's all down to politics you can say it's because of the draw and not because people hate France and vote for their neighbours.

But this year French are confidant of high score with reason. And then again, I cannot say the same about Belgium this year, sorry.

i don't get the Belgium reference? (my belgian flag maybe?) but Sognu was a crap song and What's the pressure is not good either, filler song (still entertaining though) don't be sorry, no one cares about Belgium's fate this year :D

Tuorem, you are too sceptical, in my opinion, because France flopped so many years in row. However, remember Germany and Lena. They came and won - deservedly in my opinion, but in the last few years, they are again back there - as Maraaya sang: DOWN DOWN LOW hahaha. Why couldn't France do it, after being for so many year down down low? Maybe it's time for France. :)

I feel like a traitor

Maybe I should just remove UK from my ranking and say "can't vote for your own country" :p Then I won't feel as bad

I dont wanna ruin your moment, but I am sceptical about the British entry. I don't know why, but I have the same vibe about your entry this year as I had it with Children of the Universe. Good song, but I am not sure Europe will buy it.

As for feeling bad, well, let me console you: I am a Slovenian, and I hate our entry. Probably I am the worse press for our entry this year. :)

I guess I'm careful with the top 10 because we did so bad for a long time, and when French fans believed we would do well, the actual position we got didn't live up to our expectations: Jessy Matador in 2010 (12th), Amaury in 2011 (15th) and even Patricia Kaas was considered a little flop (8th) since she's an established artist and people were expecting a top 5 or something :D

I think I'll wait for the video of the rehearsal in Stockholm to have a better idea about our chances, as it may affect an act positively or negatively, regardless of the song.

Imo, he sang very well during the third season of 'The Voice' and that was amazing how he sounded auto-tuned whereas he wasn't actually..

The 3 minutes version will be a remix of the song mainly to make the end much powerful !
It will be played on 12/03 on TV.

France with a modern pop song  I hope this difference pays off, i'm especially waiting for some more points from juries. I'll give it a 7.

I'm weeping right now because of your kind attitude toward us, Turkey.
I hope you won't keep withdrawing for 42 years..
