Gotcha, in that case I'll agree with you. I want to have at least one postcard dedicated to Swedish Meatballs :D

The most awful scenario would be , as Stargazer also mentioned... some hiphop group from a suburb as interval act and some belly dancing music in the next one... I mean yes those things are part of today's Sweden, but in my mind it will just look silly to present Sweden this way for the whole of Europe... I doubt that will attract people in general.

:)

I highly doubt it though, as I wrote SVT doesn't have the balls for such a choice.

Sad :( I always thinking Sweden was the perfect choice for something fun and sexy. In the french forum someone proposed Mans Zelmerlow, do you think it's possible?

Hey, A-lister: I'd appreciate it if you didn't judge me beforehand. I rarely ever read Aftonbladet, and I don't approve of what you are implying by saying that. I am not dumb, nor am I a sheep who just follows every one else instead of making up its own mind. It's incredibly disrespectful because we hardly know each other, and I would never do that to you. So please, keep this discussion above that level because I did not come here to be insulted.

Now, as for your input: to some extent I agree with you. As I said in my first entry I also would want Sweden to show europe the depth of our culture! It's just, I can't decide on what that would be - maybe someone making covers of Vreeswijk or Bellman? But that wouldn't be very entertaining though, haha. And I too feel that Sweden has "just as much culture and traditions worth showcasing as any other country", but as I said, I can't come up with anything that could work as an interval act. Maybe you have a couple of suggestions? :)

They embrace everything and hates Sweden in discourse, but in reality the majority are a bunch of hypocrites who truly aren't that open-minded that they're trying to act

I totally get this, it's like they're too afraid to go near anything Swedish culturally in case it would lead people to think ye're extreme nationalists like Sverigedemokraterna or something, is that it? The likes of Bjorkman and those in politics don't want to give them fodder?

Also seeing as my other candidates for host were rejected, maybe Sean Banan? :p

First there was a backstage camera and then they showed Swedes in their every-day life : at home, at work, at the cinema, at the airpot,...

Kitty and Elsa more intelligent than Victoria? Maybe in a parallel universe.

Stop with the Jantelag finally, it's nothing wrong in being blonde and have big boobies and made a career out of it. Those you mentioned are just flum (as we say in Swedish), one stupider than the other. I want to showcase Sweden as an outgoing, hot and fun country... not a boring country or something filled with left-field wierdos that think they are smart just because they don't care about their looks or dress like old grandmas.

Thanks again for your input, but Victoria Silvstedt might be the most intelligent person in the world, but her style doesn't really scream "class", does it? I'm not judging her really, I mean her career worked out for her so that's great, but she's hardly someone who's made a career on being intelligent, or even talented (except for talented in looking good in pictures). Like, I wouldn't have a problem with Carolina Gynning hosting the esc, for example; a woman who started out as a model in men's magazines, a woman that was very much a Silvstedt carbon copy. But since then she has proven herself to be so much more than that, so what do I care about her boobs or the color of her hair? Do you get what I'm going at, here? We might be judging Victoria unfairly, but can one help it considering her image...?

I personally do not believe in jantelag - and very, very few of the generation born in the mid-eighties/early nineties do, so quit waving that word around because I hardly ever see it in action these days. Victoria Silvstedt might also be the kindest and nicest person ever, but i don't want her to represent my country. Also the woman hardly ever speaks swedish anymore, for gods sakes...

Lefi-field weirdos, really? Wow. But okay that's fine haha, thanks for your honesty! :)

Actually my point wasn't to "judge" you or anything, so I'm sorry if I cam across that way ;) I'm just very sensitive to everything PC at the moment

Why can't we have Swedish folk music? I mean we had it in Azerbaijan for instance. We could have a fusion between modern music and folk and some dance theme (you'd be surprised of how many there actually are).

And for the other interval act we could have a mash-up of famous Swedish music for instance.

There's this idiotic idea in Sweden that embracing anything "typical" Swedish is somehow racist... which is obviously just absurd.

This current doctrine will LEAD to more racism though, as a large amount of the society feel like they are overlooked and disrespected simply because they happen to Swedish (like it's such a crime)... the thing is that these PC people doesn't understand that what they build up is hatred and clashes...

And as for Eurovision, I just think it would be a pity if we doesn't showcase anything "Swedish"... imo we will look like fools with low self-esteem and self-hatred... from a tourism lobbyist perspective it's the most stupid thing to do... people want to see something genuine, they want to feel the place they're heading to... if we showcase them a schizophrenic country with low self-esteem... we'll hardly attract any.

I wouldn't call Kitty (who got famous through Big Brother just like Carolina) class though

Oh, I'd love Carolina aswell :) Problem is her English sucks and although she's hilarious, she's like on-speed when she ever hosted anything

I'll take her over ANY type of political message the supposed "non-political and unbiased" SVT has in store for us

Dolph Lundgren and Victoria Silvstedt are old and boring, not fresh and new at all! I want something that represents Sweden in a serious yet fun way. Gina Dirawi, Måns Zelmerlöw and Molly Sandén would be a fun trio :)

Oh and it has to be in Stockholm! It's the biggest arena, anything else would be useless.

The postcards featured personalities from/symbols of the participating countries... for instance the Maltese postcard featured the 'oh, ever so present' Maltese cross on a huge sailboat if my memory serves me right...

Molly Sandén? A host? lol

Måns is quite boring and Gina is just awful.

How Dolph and Victoria can be seen as "old" when there have never been hosts like that on most Swedish shows, let alone Eurovision, is beyond me.

She's funny and fluent in French.

Dolph played action characters in Hollywood movies during the 80's, he's quite funny actually... he was the co-host in our MF a couple of years ago.
