Oh wow, I didn't know how bad it was. Fan boys/girls are crazy! Imagine what it will be like if Cyprus really does choose Giorgos Papadopoulos and Greece Mihalis Hatzigiannis. xrofl

IF Greece participate,i would not like again to be represented by a cypriot..!

The best Cypriot entry for me is that from 2004 (Lisa Andreas "Stronger Every Minute")! :)

Re: CYPRUS 2013

sorry but i am older i prefere national language, i hate english now.

Maybe you're right! It's better for singers to sing in their mother language and for us to hear songs in the language that we speak! :)

That would be good, but I think too good to be true.... xthink

I heard something about Heaven Music being in negotiations with CyBC, and Nikki is in Sony Music. There wasn't a reliable source, though. From Heaven Music, I prefer Polina Christodoulou over Giorgos Papadopoulos. Giorgos is quite boring for ESC, Polina has a powerful voice and can sing a nice ballad (in Greek of course) like these:

Although I like her song "Anantikatastatos", I wouldn't like her to go with a song like that, to make an Eleftheria #2!

That source from .net eventually revealed that CyBC did a deal with Sony and not with Heaven, he didn't exactly say it's Nikki.
he just described the singer and she fitted the most! :D

I think sending Ivi again would be a good choice. They adore her here in Sweden and it'll be like competing at homeground for her. (I can't believe I just said this since I don't like her!)

Nicosia born singer and songwriter Yiorgos Papadopoulos is the Cypriot broadcaster’s first choice to represent the island to the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest as confirmed by Heaven Music, the singer’s label.

The artist is considering the proposal seriously but nothing has been finalised yet. More information is expected next week.

That would be great, and with a song into her style because La La Love wasn't a song in her style 100%, but I think it's not a good thing to send the same artist for 2 years in a row! Perhaps 2 or 3 years after!

She might be welcomed by Swedish audience, but unfortunately they are not the only ones who vote, there are about 40 more countries!

I hope this will be true! I want Nikki, and not Papadopoulos. I like them both, but Nikki is good for ESC, Papadopoulos is boring for ESC... xpray

Yeah I was thinking about that while posting but sometimes people who are watching on tv can hear the cheering in the arena. Maybe that could help. Of course not so much but no matter what, La La Love charted in many countries after the ESC was over so coming back next year with a great song could actually turn out really well for Ivi and Cyprus.

From what I have found on Yiorgos Papadopoulos on YouTube I am not sure what to think... none of the songs convinced me.

And by the way, what Ivi would need if she wants to return to the ESC is not a better song... but a better live voice...

And I agree with both statements.

Ivi's problem wasn't the song, nor was it her stage show, it was simply her live vocals. Now, I'm not THAT picky with live vocals myself if they're not too shady, the song is good and the show is good enough, but I know some people are picky and especially the juries.
