According to Phileleftheros newspaper:

"In the case Cyprus decides to take part, every effort will be made for a low budget participation which could mean either a small scale national final with newcomer artists- such as talent show participants- or internal selection of an artist whose record label will be willing to undertake most of the cost."

Btw, rather than having a talent show with full of untalented people, and then sending a mediocre song like in 2011, I prefer to withdraw! But on the other hand, I surely want Cyprus in ESC, no matter if I'll like the song or not, we have to be part of this event! xshrug

The only hope is to find a record company that is willing to cover the cost, and this is a very possible option. Record companies see it as an opportunity to promote new singers, and ESC is a perfect way to promote a new artist! xshrug

Breaking news: Cyprus will participate in Eurovision 2013!

The final decision was taken by CYBC after long talks in broadcasters headquarters a few hours ago. According to Showtime-Cy, CYBC has a current deficit of 2 million euros.
