Also, considering Cyprus had one of the only cross-over from ESC 2012 edition with "La la love" and imo their strongest entry to date, it would just be dumb to withdraw... afterall success in ESC may not always show on the final scoreboard, it can also be proven in the after-game (which is actually more important in the end of the day).

Breaking news: Cyprus will participate in Eurovision 2013!
The final decision was taken by CYBC after long talks in broadcasters headquarters a few hours ago. According to Showtime-Cy, CYBC has a current deficit of 2 million euros.

Im happy Cyprus is in! Even though some of their entries are bad, they have some great songs like "Comme çi, comme ça", "La la love" and "Stronger every minute"!

I cannot say I'm delighted about it. I said before that I personally like him, but I find him boring for ESC. He's in quite similar style with Roberto Bellarosa of Belgium, a guy with a guitar. Although Papadopoulos can become a bit more rock, and sometimes even folk. I couldn't imagine him in ESC to be honest...
If I could choose one song of him that I'd prefer his ESC song to be in similar style, would one of these:

Based on his clips, he doesn't sound too promising but I'm withholding my judgement until later. His songs seem a bit draggy and uninspiring kinda remining me off the 2011 entry.

I don't think he has to do anything with Mylordou. People say he's very similar to Michalis Hatzigiannis, and their voice is very similar as well, also their music style too. They are even called kind of rivals because of this reason.
Besides, Papadopoulos is a singer-songwriter and he composes songs for himself and for other artists too. Mylordou is just a random person with average voice who won a talent show and never wrote anything himself, and the song itself that he sang in ESC hasn't got even the same style with Papadopoulos' songs.
For example, these songs were composed by him:

1) A song in Greek
2) Not a dance song or whatever outside his style

Right, my comment is purely based on two clips I watched and those reminded me of the 2011 song. Of course my intent here is not to imply that they are similar as artists. I actually like his voice so with the right song....you never know.

Great news.
Cyprus is one of those countries that I am every year hoping will come up with a great entry and a great artist (but that very rarely does). I really do think they deserve a good result! They have been long time faithful. It would be awesome if Cyprus for once could be fighting for the victory.
