Honestly? I adore this. This is what quality (money?) sounds like. Maybe, if she wins, Australia will be content and will get out of this contest for good?

Will never happen, they have been couped in to the contest as a permanent member by the EBU, they are here to stay, not to leave.

Anyways I "hope" they won't win, firstly the song is not even amongst the top. 10 best entries, secondly part of the Eurovision tradition is that the winner country hosts the contest the following year, this would open the door to kill that tradition and EBU wouldn't even blink once to create a "betting-for-hosting war" tradition instead and we'd have only the rich countries (= broadcasters) (willing to spend money on this) or some of the shady countries that want to use ESC as a image-propaganda hosting, as we know Australia will never be able to host anyways xshrug

I think this has a chance to win the contest. It's very anthemic, positive and warm sounding. Even if it is generic it is still a step above the usual generic Eurovision songs.

It was the backing track doing all the work, as it probably was with all of the acts last night.

They all have backing track, they use it instead of the backing vocals, as they don't bring their backing vocals to the parties, but people can clearly hear their voices on the top of the backing track, they sung live the whole song, at least I can hear the difference, and I have some experience with music and singing.
