That instrumental bridge leading up to the last refrain is designed to win ESC Mrm.Its there for the staging to make a massive impact without LED screens.I expect we will get an explosion of fire and dancers at that point.At the moment i see Italy being a dark horse for the win,if the juries go for it and if the televoters understand it and Australia being the ESC by numbers default challenger.Spain delegation seem to be destroying their chances at the moment.Estonia will fail with the juries.Belarus could be another that does well if their team get the staging right,and i think they probably will.

It's really well produced, love the mix of normal and reverse piano sounds. Should easily qualify!

It almost becomes my yearly ritual:
Just to be on the safe side, I look at the world map, find the country Australia and think by myself "that's really very very very far away from Europe".
So why are they allowed to participate in a show that is (still) called "European Song Contest"?

Suggestions: Maybe change the name of the event to "World Contest"? And/or also invite every other country in the world, they have music and singers as well.

And this is my ritual for every stupid post like yours: It's called Eurovision, not "European Song Contest", and it's a contest for EBU members, not for European countries.

Well... to be fair, we aren't EBU members either :lol: And I'm fine if not everyone agrees with us being in the contest. But yes, I am getting a little tired of the "lol Australia isn't in Europe" posts after seeing them for like the 300th time.

They do have strong links historically to the UK, It's a constitutional monarchy still actually with Elizabeth II.

It's such a perfect 2010s Eurovision cliché and it bothers me. The singer seems great, the vibe is all about love and empowerment... and I'm utterly bored listening to this. Disappointed in Australia for two years in a row now. Hope we get something different next time!

I agree that it is cliché and a bit outdated, but it is better than the vast majority of songs this year. Certainly with a high position in the final.

You clearly must have missed her performance in 2014, she is a weak live singer... or atleast was back then... if she didn't suddenly step up her game, she would fail with the juries this year... but being Australia they will give them a free pass again regardless...

Exactly. It makes her so relatable and I love her for it. That makes me want to vote for her and not for for example the Cypriot entry, who is giving us this bitchy attitude.
