Oh no, not Bosnia! I do believe they will be there.

What about Slovenia? I don't know where I read that participation is yet to be confirmed (?)

Yes, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bosnia, Romania and Macedonia are the 5 countries that are still in doubt for 2013.

If the countries will be 36,then it would be the smallest number, with 2004.
And each semi will have 15 countries,10 of them will go to the final,67% success!

The European Broadcasting Union is going to announce something interesting and huge this week during the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and of course relative to the contest.

We might have this information in public by the EBU scheduled press conference but there also indications the announcement to take place after the final.

We are embargoed with the information we already know not for any other reason but mostly for sentimental ones. We can tell you one thing: the contest somehow moves from west to east!

Teased enough? Stay tuned for more…

I personally think that all five nations in doubt will confirm sooner or later. I can't imagine them to withdraw! (I thought the same of Portugal to be honest, but I think that Portugal it's an exception).

Seriously who cares about jESC? Hopefully they'll announce that that will be the last jESC ever.

So let's go back to ESC shall we? If they announce something related to ESC participants we can discuss that further then.

I hear yah. Every year I want to promote and support the junior version of the contest but I just can't stand it but apparently there are quite a few people interested in that contest so power to them.

Well, personally I just want EBU to finally drop that concept, but if people like it then good for them... I don't really see the connection to this thread though.

Some bad news...
Cyprus national broadcaster confirmed to Showtime blog by Costas Constantinou that there is a big chance the island to be forced out of Eurovision Song Contest 2013 as the TROIKA memorandum demands 2 million Euros budget cuts in CyBC. The broadcaster urges sponsors to support possible Eurovision participation otherwise the country is going out of the contest.CyBC seeks a eurovision sponsor and a budget deal that will make possible a Cypriot entry in Eurovision 2013!

:/ No MORE!!!

Kinda ironic though that Greece is in thanks to even more loans from EU, and Cyprus (with a less problematic situation) might withdraw? But then again it's all about the broadcaster's wealth...

Cyprus stay!!

Cyprus considers withdrawing from Eurovision 2013
According to CyBC Chairman of the Board Mr Makis Symeou Cyprus may pull out of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest due to the financial crisis the country faces, according to an interview published in Cypriot media.

In an interview with local newspaper Fileleftheros today, Mr Symeou states that participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has been a profitable project for the Cypriot broadcaster so far. Since Cyprus became the fourth country to strike a bailout deal with IMF CyBC officials fear that taking part in the contest might provoke negative reactions so a meeting will be held next week to determine whether the Cypriot flag will be flown in Malmö.

It seems though that not every member of the board shares the same opinion so all options are still open. In the case Cyprus decides to take part every effort will be made for a low budget participation which could mean either a small scale national final with newcomers artists such as talent show participants or internal selection of an artist whose record label will be willing to undertake most of the cost.

So far Poland and Portugal have announced that they will not be taking part in 2013 due to financial problems whereas other broadcasters, such as the Greek ERT, have turned to private sponsors who will finance their national finals and on-location costs for Malmo.
