I guess we'll have to wait until December to see who's really in and out.

Maybe the country count will drop under 40 like in Oslo.

This looks like an exodus from Western and Central Europe. Only remaining blocks: Nordic and Soviet....

If Austria and Italy are dropping out too, maybe again in 2014, there'd be a huge rift in the map from the Baltic to the Mediterranean Sea.

I've read on eurocontest.cz that according to their sources in EBU, Slovakia, FYR Macedonia and Bosnia & Herzegovina still haven't payed all the fees from 2012 so unless they pay it until some unspecified deadline, they are automatically banned from entering the contest in 2013. Not sure if this is true, but eurocontest.cz usually have reliable sources...

No don't say that.

uh oh, it would be a shock for ex-yu block voting. I would like that - less messed-up results.

Well my dear, it is not only about "ex yu voting block". You see, last few year(s) it was not really "successful", since 2 or 3 countries qualified for final....for example in "ex USSR block" some countries qualified for final in EVERY SINGLE YEAR!....so the results were messed up enough...
plus I think that this year's withdrawals and the possible ones have deeper grounds than we think.....
