Slovakia already CONFIRMED its participation, on what planet do you live? Mars or Jupiter maybe?

Well, there were some news/rumors lately that they MIGHT withdraw. I think it has been the same dilemma with Slovakia for the past two years, in and out stuff so one can never be too sure. I don't think they actually confirmed though, more like "likely to enter" sort of confirmation. I hope they will be in though.

Poland is OUT.
After a long and thorough analysis of all the arguments for and against, the board of TVP has decided not to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, to be held in Malmö. In addition, TVP will not broadcast live the semi finals nor the Final of the Contest.

Marcin Perzyna, chief agent of Polsat TV said that Eurovision focuses more on the show, and not the music, and that there is the “phenomenon” of voting for your neighbouring countries. He also adds that on the other hand, Eurovision is the best chance to promote Polish artists abroad, but that they haven’t had any success in doing that.

Poland entered Eurovision in 1994 for the very first time, when they finished second, which is their best result to date. They took part every year, withdrawing this year. TVP justified the withdrawal with focusing all the funds towards the European Championship in football which was held in Poland and Ukraine. TVP’s spokesperson did not give reasons for this decision of the Management Board of TVP.

OK everything is clear...no record in 2013. ****!
Well it means I will probably watch only "our" semifinal and a final.....sorry....

But mr Perzyna is right in his statements....very right! ESC was not anymore what is used to be. Sadly but true.

what about Kazakhstan? they are in EBU, they are in Europe(well partly, as Georgia, Turkey, Russia or Azerbaijan is), and they didn't say no yet!

They're not in EBU, but I would be all for them entering since they do have a geographical European part.

Anyway, I'm adding :me: to the list above. A real pity when it comes to Poland :( Expected but I was still hoping for them to enter. Now we won't get record a year xcry, let's just hope atleast we will have a shared record with 2008 and 2011 (43 entries)...

Esckaz on escnation saying 3 confirmed entries are looking very dodgy despite wiki saying otherwise. I'd imagine this will include Slovakia and Slovenia who have had consistent rumors. Bosnia and Cyprus have also had rumors around them as we know. Yet the December deadline is a long way off.

The main problem is fansites pester broadcasters for an answer on participation and I'd imagine they'll just say yes for peace and quiet most the time.
