Nah, I want somebody completely out the ordinary like Bulgaria or Austria to win.

Just think, amazing!

Technically any of these 39 countries could leave however they would not get their participation fees back and most likely had to pay another hefty withdrawal fee on top if it. So you can assume that those countries on the list will indeed take part next May.

Fantastic we're under 40, shame it couldn't be a few more less too but oh well can't complain.
I feel so bad agreeing, but I also prefer a smaller contest, especially when predictable voters like Turkey and Bosnia & Herzegovina leave. I will miss Portugal though.

I'm very glad to see San Marino in the confirmed list.

It would be greater to have 40 countries at least instead of 39. It sound better but I miss already all the countries that don't participate in Malmo... :(

I have a feeling an unexpected country will win this year. The cances for that are far greater now.
WE are this country...but first we have to jump over our dead zone - the semis :D

I agree with you DanielLuis! Someone from the no-winner's land (see the map) will win this year, and I can't wait, and it could probably be Bulgaria! I've always wondered why the larger Central/Southern European countries haven't won yet.

I don't think that Bulgaria will win! I believe that these countries have many chances to win in 2013:

1) France
2) Spain
3) United Kingdom
4) Austria
5) Iceland

You forget money issue! Even the Romanian participant from 2010 till now, wasn't so sure... But otherwise Romania has chances, but I don't think in 2013!

Iceland hosting the contest would be really nice

I agree! It will be very interesting, in a small and very cold country! I like this idea! And by the way, Iceland is my favorite ESC country in the recent years!

Baring 2012 mine would probably be Ukraine. I'm a sucker for a bit of pop with a rock edge. FYR Macedonia was a huge pleasure of mine this year!

Since there has been a lot of fuss regarding participation fees, ERR has announced that our fee was increased over 13%, from 61 700 to 69 908 euros, (and that there are no plans for withdrawing).
