It's kind of sad that so many important countries are withdrawing this year.

Turkey comes as a big surprise for me, reading what TRT said it sounded a little bit like crybabies being sorry that their diaspora votes may be reduced by a jury to be honest.

But along with Greece that's probably one of the most succesful countries of the 2000's withdrawing.

And even if i m still completely mad at that ******** idea of doing the running order, i just feel so sad that the eurovision is hurt when it is hosted by perhaps the country who loves it the most

Now, I don't believe that EBU will reveal the list of participants tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I think that EBU is making efforts to convince with many options, some countries not to withdraw. And in order to have at least 40 participants, even all the withdrawn countries will not join in 2013, then EBU maybe will ask Andorra or Monaco to join again for free, because I think that the participation fees for these tiny states are not so high.

Why is it good to have maximum number of countries participating? Isn't it better with participants who really wants to be there instead of dragging along with reluctant countries without the real spirit? Wouldn't it be better to welcome them back when they are prepared to put some effort into the game again?

If the participation was for free, you think the countries would be 38-40?

It's gunna be much better this year! I hate when competitions are too big.

It's about the general quality of the songs. 2012 was a great year and had almost as many participants as the 2011 and 2009 record years, 2010 was a pretty weak year and had the same amount of participants as it seems Malmö will hold. 2011 was also weak, 2009 was great. Bottom-line the amount of participants aren't really saying much, but I do prefer more than less though as this should be about bringing as much of Europe together as possible, now half of the Central is missing and it's not right.

Although, I must say it's a bit odd we're past the deadline date but there's still no official list and for instance we still don't know for sure if Greece are in or out.

Yes, this is a joke :? Does EBU understand the word "deadline"? xcrazy If Greece didn't make a decision it should equal in them being out.

EBU said that they will reveal the list of participants before Christmas.

That is correct, they usually wait until January to reveal the list but due to the high interest they said the final list of participants would be revealed this month.
