I watched with my mum tonight. She certainly had some opinions to share.

Macedonia was a song my mother found very moving, and she loved Tamara's voice. Knowing my mother this could have gone either way with her as she tends not to like vocal acrobatics but I'm pleased this reached her. My mum has been a Serhat fan for a while now so of course she joined me in swooning over
San Marino.
Australia was magical to her. She couldn't get over the performance.
Russia she also was amazed by. However, surprisingly her favourite was
Italy. She loved Mahmood's voice and thought it was a really groovy song. She was cheering for him during the results.
My mum was being sort of nice last night but a few songs she had some words for. The show got off to a bad start for her with
Malta. During
Greece she was wincing and commented on the "horrible" vocals. She didn't like
Belarus and absolutely hated
UK. She thought we deserved last place. The Netherlands she thought was dull and was shocked when I told her it was the favourite to win. She was like "that?".
Iceland I thought actually she might have been shady towards but she liked their fashion and for some reason was also feeling the song (I wouldn't have put money on that reaction).
She didn't have anything to say about the song but my mum said "is that Madonna" when she walked in on Tamta performing. She actually didn't know Madonna was performing that night either, and ironically didn't recognise the real Madonna when she took to the stage for her interview later on in the show.
