I have a friend I've known for years who's not really big on it, he just listens to the odd song and he heard Cyprus and liked it, I also tried to get him into Darude's song but I think he was distracted(although admittedly last night's performance of it wasn't good)! Other songs before he liked were UK 2016, both Ukraine and Germany in 2013 and Sweden 2012.

Just scrolling through yesterday's messages of our family whatsapp group...

Mum wrote, she's a big fan of Estonia, her favourite. We were all mocking her.
After the results were announced and Estonia qualified:
Mum: Hah!!! Voters and me agree...obviously we all have the same taste!
Sister: Yes, a bad!!!

I'm a bit disappointed Georgia was Mum's last place... I honestly thought it would be her favourite.

I didn’t need to ask my 6 year old what he likes best. Of all Eurovision songs I played the last weeks (almost all) he sings along just ONE every day... and he doesn’t even know the language...

„Sooolee sooolee... fourty fourty...“

Who can guess which his favourite is? :D

I hope we are not talking about Iceland

So, watched the show with my mom: her favorite was.. .Georgia. Yeah, no kidding, that was at the top at her list.

She also liked Greece, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary (she was especially moved by those last two).

She thought Australia was good, but by the end, it was almost a joke: the whole pole thing had her giggling.

She thought San Marino was nice, but not enough to qualify... oh well XD

Estonia was pretty good at her opinion.

And while we're on it, my brother, who is kind of a "normie" by Eurovision standards, listened the event and he thought Estonia was the best of them all.

The only songs that ALL of my family liked were Norway and Russia.
Mum and me had the Netherlands and Switzerland too
Sister Albania
Mum Latvia & Romania
Me Lithuania

Surprised that sister wasn’t too enthusiastic about the Netherlands because the Netherlands are their favourite country in Eurovision and she loves their songs every year... and this year of all the Netherlands are not her favourite when they are the big favourite overall... lol

At least we all agreed on the most annoying song tonight: Denmark (and Austria)

My mom and brother always have the same taste, last year they both had Denmark as their favourite.

For the 1st semi-final this year they loved Estonia (ugh), Czech Republic and Georgia. They did not get Portugal at all and were not fond of Australia and Slovenia songs.

My mom: She basically only liked the Netherlands lol.
Sister: Sweden, Switzerland and Azerbaijan. She admitted the Netherlands has a chance to win, but I don’t think she necessarily liked it, since she usually likes more uptempo songs.
Dad: hates everything and says it is all show

I think they were quite unanimous about Austria being the least favorite.

My grandma loved Serbia the most, then Macedonia (biased), Russia, Sweden, Malta. She also liked Iceland. That one was odd.

My mother liked Denmark and Latvia most, apart from The Netherlands (slightly biased). It didn't surprise me at all, she usually considers most of the Eurovision singers to be screaming. I think these rather safe, simple and not exactly groundbreaking songs did well with Dutch televoters too.
