My mom hasn't heard that many songs this year, but I sent her a link to the :nl: song, and she became an immediate fan, and will be voting for it. And a guy at work (who I used to share an apartment with for a few years) really likes :hu: (because I sent him a link to it). Dunno if he's going to watch tonight tho, but as :hu: is among my favorites too, I will at least remind him. :)

From the first semi final, my father's favourites were Azerbaijan, Finland, Austria and Cyprus. My mother sort of liked Armenia also, at least the beginning. "It started promising" :p

Semi 2:

My mum‘s favourites were the Netherlands (I expected this), Norway, Denmark, Georgia. She thought Australia and Moldova were nice too.
She thinks, Sweden is terrible (great minds think alike *lol*) and she didn‘t know my opinion about it (I agree :D).

From :ca: here. Played a bunch of songs from the playlist for my 3 siblings and they all really liked Israel (they thought it sounded like Kesha), and also enjoyed Sweden, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Lithuania, Ireland, and Switzerland.

One week ago, my boyfriend (who hates eurovision) was enthusiastically showing me the entry of :hu:
He said he liked it and wanted to surprise me (as if I had not heard the song beforehand. Silly boy.)

I usually watch Eurovision with my mum but this year I didn't. She enjoyed Netta though, specifically the performance and how sweet she was.

My rocker dad also texted to tell me that his favourite was Israel. I was like... "errmmm ok?"x??? I think my dad just admittedly watches Eurovision to be entertained. He loved the Russian grandma's for instance back in 2012. I was just shocked he told me he loved Israel.

My grandma who's in her 90s though.. ohhh boooy! Her Netta shade this afternoon. She apparently stayed up to see the winner, expecting to hear a nice song but instead was presented with a "horrible" one. It's all a fix apparently and "silly", but she supposes it's what the "youngsters today" want. She doesn't understand it. My grandma loved Conchita by the way, so she is very accepting of different things and people. I totally see why she wouldn't like Netta's song. She said that she was happy at least she got to see Salvador again, and that she thought of me during his performance, as I remind her so much of him. Aw thanks nanxheart

This year I watched Eurovision online whilst talking to some very old and dear gamer friends. A Swede and two Irish guys. Three of us had Sweden as our favourite, and the other loved Estonia most. Slovenia had become a running joke between the four of us, so much so that I almost voted for the entry. My three friends thought it was the worst song and performance of the year but found it amusing. We were all happy that Netta won in the end. My Swedish friend who's taste in music is extremely mainstream and particular only liked Sweden and Israel. My Irish friend, the one with pop leaning taste loved Sweden and Cyprus especially, but also voted for Estonia, Finland and Israel. My other Irish friend who has a love of folk music and mystical things lost his favourite in the semi, Belarus, but was living for the Estonian performance and it's spirals. We all disliked Germany, France, and the Netherlands. They disliked also Hungary (which I love), Norway and Denmark (which i've softened on). My friends were also shocked and annoyed at how Austria won the jury vote, but I assured them that no way are they going to win because the public wouldn't feel the same way.

My cat Valentino hated them all apart from San Marino.

My dad liked :lt: (his overall #1), :de:, and :sl:; he's started dyeing his hair in his retirement so felt some sense of solidarity with Lea, I think. Didn't care for  ("Norge missed Step 3: quality check it") and :ee:, the target of a crack about scaring cats. Also didn't care for :at: - I thought he would and told him as much. Back when we just had studio versions, I played my mum :il: and :al: - she liked the former but called the latter "boring."

Ok, it seems like my mum watched Eurovision without telling me (we don't live together anymore).

She had two faves only: :ee: and :ie:. Apparently, she appreciated our song this time, despite her asking me two weeks ago if it was a joke we were sending an entry about refugees. She disliked the winning song.

My aunt's favourite was :rs: because it "was a very Eurovision-y song"
