Yes.
When you have good songs, you dont have anything to afraid of.
This does not happen with any country though. ;)

What country(ies) would you say generally does not have the juries on their side - even though they are sending good songs ("good" being of course very subjective)?

The juries and the televoters tend to have a bit different voting patterns, true enough. And the juries are contributing to block-voting (so in that respect Norway has an advantage, belonging to a cultural block) - just like the televoters. So f.ex Portugal seems to have a hard time both with the televoters and the juries.

But I dont think the juries are less prone to vote for a spesific country no matter what they send - at least not more so than the televoters.

Believe me - I fully understand you! Sofi was my favourite (along with Portugal) back in 2012!!! I would have rather seen her in the final than Tooji.

Long live Queen Sofi! we can only hope she'll grant eurovision her forgiveness and return to claim her rightful place in the final very soon!!

This is almost impossible to predict to be honest, I'd say only 5 countries are safe here: :se:  :sl: :az: :lv: For the remaining 5 places pretty much everyone got a shot IMO, expect for San Marino. :( But I'd say these 5: :mt: :me: :ie: :cy: :il:.

Bad year, but certainly tough qualifiers to call!

Azerbaijan, Norway and Sweden seem to be through. Fans like them and certainly jury friendly.
Slovenia has a great draw + it stands out. Poland are through, helped by the draw too.
Iceland seem to be quite lucky lately and the song does have it appeal.

That leaves four countries - Malta (juries are friendly with us for the time being plus I honestly believe it's our best song in a decade), Lithuania (good opener, should stick around and they have a good qualification rate), Czech Republic (juries sucked Italy when they came back, they should help these guys this time if the performance is slick) and then one of Latvia/Israel (juries could trash both, but because it's different and it has more diaspora, I'd say Latvia).

Lithuania
Malta
Norway
Czech Republic
Latvia
Azerbaijan
Iceland
Sweden
Slovenia
Poland

I'd say these 9 will be in the final
:az:
:is:
:il:
:lv:
:lt:
:mt:
:sl:
:se:

10. :ch:

For the last spot I think it will be either :me:, :ch: or :ie:.
:me: has a pretty nice balkan ballad, but not many neighbors here?
:ch: Might be many ppl cheering for them in Austria? Start number is +
:ie: Will get :uk: votes and possibly :au: votes. But as number 2???

I don't think these will make it :cy::pl::pt::cz::sm:

Nikkita Do you think Slovenia would fail to qualify? :) We know they're never guaranteed to get through but it seems they don't have any major obstacle standing in their way

So many people saying Israel will qualify. I honestly believe it stands almost no chances.

I agree with you, but i'm not not as certain. I think the juries will butcher it, but the public will like it. It might be a border qualifier.

Will it be Poland 2014 or Greece 2013 ?

More of a Poland 2014, I think. But not doing as well with televote as Poland did.

I think it´s too populistic to not qualify. Even I quite like the catchy part of it against my will, so to say. Personally, I didn´t believe for a second that this raffish man was 16 years old (unless he has some serious addiction problem) and I still think it´s only a matter of time when the truth will come out. But if I forget for a moment how unconvincigly he looks in the role he decided to play and if I generously overlook the fact that he can´t sing.... Everything else in the song seems to be a very well-calculated mix of what it´s creators believe "west-european" mainstream pop is about these days (and they may be right) and what they hope is appealing on Israeli music for listeners from other countries (and they are probably right in that as well). So, I would be surprised if this wouldn´t qualify. Pleasently surprised.
