i think georgia will steal the jury votes from ireland, so maybe ireland will miss the final. it will be exciting to see wich of all the ballads in semi 2 will be favoured:
georgia, ireland, sweden, israel, azerbaijan, cyprus or ukraine.
a few of them will miss final, im afraid.

and i think ireland, cyprus and ukraine will be dissapointed.

Are you Eastern European? :D
Nope. Just not geographically ignorant...and/or awkwardly stuck in times long gone by. ;)

UK certainly WILL be bottom 5 or let's say rang 24-25, but Spain will certainly be Top 15 and Germany Top 10 for sure. France is a dark horse, may be anything from rank 5 to 25.

After more than a month that I'd said Denmark will win.
I take my magic crystal ball and ask it which big west-european country will flop this edition.
And the result was a surprise for me...It tell me that....

-dk DENMARK WILL FLOP

Mmmm....nah, sorry, mate; I'm afraid that's the old pre-1989 geopolitical division and thus obsolete. Why else would Finland be considered Western Europe when in fact they've run on East European time since yonks ago?

Similarly, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic (to name a few) are really Central European countries. They've never been part of geographical Eastern Europe, only the geopolitical ditto.

I suggest you all lump and dump the obsolete geopolitical division, and if in doubt as to where a country is located, look at its time zone; is it Western, Central or East European time (WET, CET and EET) respectively. Needless to say, some of the Balkan Slavic countries are really South European (there's a reason behind the name Jugoslavija; land of the South Slavs).

Wow, you're such a disrespectful know-it-all! I was just trying to help, no need to be rude!

Hmmm... :?
Well I may answer it's a central european country above them it's Poland (it's western or eastern?) and Part of Czech Republic (east or west?). Below Hungay (east or west?)

At the east of Slovakia it' Ukraine that defenitly it's eastern country.
And don't forget Austria at the west. ;)

Could? You really doubt that the UK will break the Bottom 10? It's more a question of "How few points can Josh rack up?". Is it worth another Nil Points? I'd say so, but you never know, the general public might give it a few (undeserved) points.

Spain will probably be Bottom 10 because of its randomness and general blahness.

Germany will definitely be non-Bottom 10, probably Top 10, possibly Top 5, possibly win. Why? Because the Western juries will eat it up.

I think for the ballads Ireland(& also, Azerbaijan & Armenia for east) will flop

Of course a flop for the last two is a 9/10/11/12 th place in the final

I really think juries and loving's ballad voters will all prefer Sweden, Belgium & Georgia instead of the others ballads.

From Day 1 i suspect Georgia will be the best scorer from that region of europe.

As for the rest i think that at best Uk can achieve a top 12

Spain won't have much sucess because of the draw

The only two mysteries for me are France & Germany. Those two songs could be First and they could be 25th

If a lot of ballad are drawn between France & Germany and they have a good performance i really believe they both could be top 5.

If they are badly performed and next to Moldova, Romania, Turkey i could see both doing a Cyprus 99 eurovision :|

No, the best the UK can do is get out of the Bottom 5 and that's if I'm being generous. My God, it's Gemini all over again.

And the song...

France will no doubt take its sexistic message to the stage. Certain televoters will eat it up whilst the juries will shun it. The song itself is no winner. At best a Top 15 if I'm being extremely generous.

The juries will hate France not only because of its sexistic undertones (the performance, the clothes, heck, the lyrics) because also because it's a pretty shoddy song if you look at it from an objective standpoint. It works well in clubs and as a football anthem but not as a song of quality. Usually, songs lack a real refrain. This song lacks a real verse. It's just the same refrain over and over and over again.

France and the UK got complacent after last year's Top 10 finishes. They'll return to the Bottom 5 this year. Germany, meanwhile, might do well. Spain will crash and burn because, really, the song is so weird.
