Re: Updates/Requests/Improvements

Unfortunately I don't believe the hack includes the option for individuals to turn off the notification so we'd have to do it for everyone. Let's test it out for a few days and it if it's too much of a distraction we'll turn it off and just keep the option to notify people via the @ thing

Well yah then probably turn it off. I do see why some users are heavily annoyed by notifications popping up every minute (see Stargazer's posts for further explanation), and people like me won't really miss it too much. Has anyone in this thread even said he couldn't live without this anymore? I think not. :? Most opinions are somewhere between "it annoys the hell out of me, turn it off" and "meh, a nice and handy gimmick but not really life-changing" xshrug

I like this notification when someone quotes you. It also leads you to the post! So I'm a fan :D

Salmon , actually this was requested by members which is why we added it in the first place. Based from what I heard (not just in here) it's well liked but I understand that this may not be for everyone. So we are looking for something that would give invididuals the ability to turn it off but please give us the time to research it.

I didn't know this quote thing was a new feature! I was surprised to see notifications popping up, I'm sure I've been quoted before and I was like 'Why have I never seen that before?!'

Re: Updates/Requests/Improvements

Even though I like the new notification thingie, I do have a problem with it, it seems like it's sending me notifications 20 minutes too late, it's not a huge problem but it might be that it's slowing the server. I really don't know what it's about. :)

Re: Updates/Requests/Improvements

Um, this may seem like the most random question ever, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I'm using Google Chrome to browse the internet, but this forum eats a lot of CPU tbh, almost 900MB.. Am I the only one having this "issue"?
Is it better to run this website on an other browser?

EDIT: Never mind.. I think the problem just fixed itself  now it just swings between 100 & 200MB
