I think it's quite catchy and well-produced based on the snippets.
Nothing to write home about but it's miles ahead of most British entries in this century and Olly's a pretty decent to great performer - and quite a big name - pretty sure the :uk: will do alright in May.

The snippet also suggests that he didn't change his "personal style" for his Eurovision attempt - which is great... most of his discography has been quite radio-friendly/synth pop ish.. I don't know what people really expect(ed)?

I’ll say that the snippet didn’t wow me, but it impressed me all the same.

The main reason being that it felt like an Olly Alexander/ Years and Years song. Sounds obvious but until Sam Ryder, it did feel like the UK was forcing genres of songs onto the artists or they were going down the ‘make a Eurovision song’ route which is doomed to fail.

This feels like a song that just happens to be going to Eurovision which is what it should always be to me. Get a good song first, then send it to Eurovision.

I’m looking forward to the full song now and have raised my expectations just a smidge more. I’m trying not to get carried away though!

The composition sounds extremely kitsch in an early 10s Verka Serduchka kind of way (just listen to Dolce & Gabbana to see what I mean.) I should be into it and I probably would be with someone like Verka or Alcazar singing it. I don't know. I feel like I'm just gonna struggle with it. Olly's vocals aren't my thing at all to be honest. When you have a problem connecting with an artist (not digging their voice, vibe and such) it can make even a good song difficult to get into. I know it's just a 20 second snippet but I'm enjoying it whilst feeling irked in about equal amounts. Actually, it's not a fun feeling as I'd like to be excited for the entry.

You just know a key change is happening and it’s all gonna piece together wonderfully. There are too many extremely talented and knowledgable people in the industry involved in this whole process for it not to!

Why has the BBC decided to send the same song Cyprus sent in 2002? It flopped then and it will again in Malmö. You cannot argue they don't have the same melody! https://youtu.be/xAzzUjoyHc0?si=y5nqFxEHa_4xWGwE
However, as the Brits say, "It's early days." You call finishing sixth in ESC 2002 a flop? I think that it is a respectable finish. Also, I think that "Dizzy" and "Gimme" are not that similar.

Having heard the snippet of "Dizzy," I have a few questions about the song. How does it begin? Where is it going? Will it have a key change toward the end of the song? Of course, I will have to wait until March 1 to find out the answers to these questions.
