🙄 I'm not hating or dooming or anything. For me i wasn't particularly moved by the snippet but its impossible to form an actual opinion of what the entire song is like in any capacity. The list is endless of snippets that have been dragged through the mud and then everyone ended up loving the whole song and vice versa.

Too difficult to judge now. I don't know, I imagine Olly's strength will be putting on an exaggerated scene. He will win more the show rather than the song. Personal opinion.

The thing with '' I wrote a song '' last year was that it was made to be super radio friendly but not to destroy the competition on a live stage, this sounds like it too, super radio friendly but not hugely competitive. Need to listen to the whole thing tho, and have to keep in mind that Olly is a great performer.

The biggest issue with "I wrote a song" IMO was the live, and so far I expect Olly to handle that better.

The snippet does what it's supposed to do: it makes me curious to hear the whole thing. And it sounds like it good lend itself well to a stylish live performance. So for now, I'm excited for it.

Ι dont think her vocals were the only issue, I get it for the jurors but televoters dont care about that as the cha cha cha success in tele prove lol. She had a song that was radio friendly, catchy and pleasant but it didnt have the cool factor to make you vote for it

oh yeah, I Wrote A Song was great in studio but live fell completely flat on its face. All energy was drained out of it and as much as I loved Mae as our Eurovision ambassador her vocal ability was poor which didn't help. It was all very underwhelming live - and I still don't get how the delegation and the people doing the staging didn't pick up on that or even prepare better backing vocals. Olly is a fantastic performer and I think that will help massively, my expectations is that live at Eurovision he will sell his song incredibly well.

It's not the only issue I agree, but I do think it was the biggest one. I also think Mae lacked a certainly... security and playfulness (likely caused by not being secure enough in her vocals) that made the performance the performance Lack the neccessary charm.

Basically, "I wrote a song" was better in Studio, while I expect Olly to be better live. I don't think Mae could have won, but with a strong performance she could have placed waaay higher IMO.

Here are ^reactions of our ESC community to his snippet. Not impressed, but we don't think it's utter shit.
Even the most positive Eurovision TG group that likes almost everything is divided 50/50.
That's unfortunate, because our gheys expected a good song from him.
I assume this is the chorus, so I'm not sure that the rest of the song will differ much.

yeah also, '' dizzy '', only by its title, sounds like a song with a lot of staging potential, in contrast to I wrote a song. I can already imagine a scaffold or a prop on stage and the dancers doing freefalls and backflips with skyscrapers on the backdrop :sneaky:

I have no idea what to think of this snippet. It doesn't excite me right now because I never liked Pet Shop Boys tbh and this snippet gives me these vibes. But I will wait patiently for the full song, it might give me another impression after all.

Don't think Harry was referring to you buddy - more the trolls on the BBC reel that are just doom and gloom constantly anytime Eurovision is mentioned!

How nice to have the UK entry drop on my birthday.

Well the clip has me cautiously optimistic, liking the production, but I hope we don't too many other previews in the weeks to come so we know the entire song, or have the inevitable 'fan edits' on You Tube, ahead of the actual release.

Yup! It’s like they pop up once or twice a year when our song gets announced, and normally their profile picture consists of a British bulldog, a pint of beer or a pro-brexit banner. Really does make you laugh!

Also can I just say - thank you BBC for letting us get some hype builds with previews and snippets and little social teases - this is what we need instead of months of nothing and then suddenly "song tomorrow".

It makes me hopeful that Olly is fully invested in a big PR tour to promote him and his song in the months to come xlove
