they thought that what brought them success last year is that they sent a tik tok star, so they are sending a tik tok girl now
What brought them success was Sam's incredible vocals and likeability
I'm actually thinking nepotism is involved here. There's no way you can look at Mae Muller and think she has talent. Wasn't she in the Mika "Grace Kelly" music video when she was a girl, so she clearly has contacts from even a young age.

Oh god, it really is like Poland's drama with TVP and Blanka!

So I definitely don't have anything against Mae Muller. I don't know the act at all, but I don't like the clip from the Twitter video.

The song just reminds me of Poland's solo.
She deserves a chance. She can't do anything for what happened the last weeks.

If "i wrote a song" is the song, i find it weak. It feels like a song we have been sending for the last few years.

But I wish all the uk people that the stage show will be great and that she won't end up in bottom five.

Only Salena Mastroianni and her shaky vocals can save us with this rather now relevant song

Gosh I've spent the last hour reading all the posts since last night, wow had so much to catch up on. By the sounds of things I don't have high hopes but let's see what happens tomorrow.

Is it too early for us to start apologising on Josh Dubovie's performance video like Polish eurofans were on Rafal's :ROFLMAO:

I have no problem with the snippet - I just think it’s something you’d hear overplayed on Radio 1 and not necessarily a song you’d hear on Eurovision, I can’t envisage any ‘wow’ factor that would make anyone spend money on votes

I have to admit as people, well basically uk eurovision fans, are trying to be positive about the song, that I hate the snippet so much it is my least liked UK song of all time. I feel really bad for Mae but I am sorry but I can't help it. I know we need to hear the whole song but when you would rather have Jemini or Josh Dubovie again than this, it does not bode well.

Ok we havent heard the song in full tho. I think the chorus will be really catchy, but ok yeah shes giving Love island and drunk pub girl a bit I wont lie.
The fact is, the UK will have to face the host country curse this year too. For some reason, people barely vote for the country that hosts, especially if they dont have something very powerful.

Except for the vocal disaster that was Brividi. (And before anyone says anything, it was in my pre-show Top 10 but God it was awful live.)

Yeah. It is not for me but if people want to buy it and listen to it and Radio 1 taps into it then normally why would I care? The thing is Eurovision and now the UK are trying too hard to tap into the successes of tik tok etc and only aiming at 1 market. That market may be important but they are only 1 part of the audience that watches Eurovision in my opinion.

Sensing it’s not a popular opinion at the moment but I’m going to need to hear Rina turned them down or wasn’t available because I need to hear some justification for this car crash of a decision.

If if all goes badly and TaP don’t decide to part ways then good news! Andrew Cartmell (HOD) and Lee Smithurst (AHOD) will hopefully return to the top of the UK delegation to fix it again in 2024. They are both missing this year to run the contest.
