Just listened, it is a nice song, but think it will get lost in the voting, and may finish last. Will depend potentially on the staging.

It definitely isn’t bad, I like his voice and everything has an expensive and radio friendly feel to it. However, it’s just so middle of the road. Definitely not what the UK needed in order to boost themselves out of their Eurovision misery. Since it’s a middle of the road song I’m gonna give it middle of the road points :6: and predict a mid table finish.

I do think it might get stuck in people's #11-#15 spot and therefore won't pick up many points, pulling it down in the results

I can easily see it being 11th-15th in the televote, its the judges that I am curious about. But we'll see, its only been a few hours so we can't really try to second guess what we can bribe the judges with to get them on side. :p

Apparently Halseys set designer is working on our staging.

"We’re still working on set design, but we’ve got Halsey’s set designer working on something "

I literally have no idea who that is, but having seen a clip of what I resume will be their work I hope there is a little more happening on stage because whilst the backdrop does look snazzy I mean, at Eurovision they all do more less (Well, aside when they have people doing """Live""" sand art).

Oh, and update on the trending on Youtube thing, since I made my post saying it has its has gained another 20K viewers and currently sits at around 250k views. Which in the main contest means nothing sure, but hopefully it means it has a chance in resonating with people even if its short.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
Doja Cat is American tho

This is what happens when you stay up to listen to the UK entry and your brain is starting to run out of fumes xfacepalm

Back on topic though, this is one of the better ratios for a UK entry in a while (at least since Molly), and most UK fans seem to be optimistic. Even if it's not my favorite entry, I'm genuinely rooting for James this year, because, similar to Molly, I fear that if the UK places lower than 18th, the BBC will overreact again and pack up shop.

Not only that, but the attitude needs to change. When one of the DJs on the hip, popular radio is slagging off Eurovision, that just makes people justified in their opinion of, "Why bother sending a good entry if we're always going to lose, it's just a silly campfest". If you stop treating it like an embarrassment, then maybe other artists won't feel like it's a stain on their career to participate.

One of my favourite pieces of 'criticism' is from people (I.E. No one seriously) Saying the song is insensitive to people with Corona virus. What is even funnier is that a certain newspaper picked up on it and decided to roll with it as though it was an actual news story.

So even the new decade wasn't good enough of an inspiration for BBC to get away from boring routine and they decided to bring up this boring cliché.

Okay the only UK song I have liked in recent years was Lucie... Unitel now! This is a song I can get behind - It's not the best song in the world but it's pretty good and I think someone mentioned the timing of the song last night and there could be a Douwe Bob moment and I'm thinking the same now. I think there will be a big show. I'm excited to see how it goes in May

From what ive seen, the song has gone down pretty well. You will obviously get some negative reaction as it is the UK Media.

But I do think that if the BBC dont get a decent result this year then I can see it being the end of the road for the BBC doing eurovision for the UK.

But that will certainly open the door to other broadcasters who might take the contest more seriously.

I personally would opt for Channel 4 who are a growing broadcaster in the UK at the moment.

This article lol. Whoever wrote it feels pretty clueless

"Can James Newman beat her? No. Shaj is an early favourite amongst Eurovision-watchers, and looks set for a top five finish. "
What.

"Can James Newman beat her (n. Samanta) ? If there's any justice, yes. "
Excuse me?
