Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
My dream (incredibly unrealistic as it may be) would be to have living legend Marianne Faithfull represent UK at the contest. It would make my life complete I think. There's no other artist from my own country that means as much to me.

I heard this song of hers in a movie I watched recently and it was absolutely sublime. I knew she was a singer but had never listened to her music.

Thanks for reminding me I need to binge through her discography xmusic

I remember I spoke to the HoD a while ago and said Tina Cousins should be asked and they say said she was too old... A few years later they sent Engelbert... haha

Oh you absolutely must. She's incredible and reading her life story makes her works and the fact she's still with us today even more wondrous. Every time she releases a new record it's like a holy experience for me. She somehow gets better and better with time.

My favourite song by Marianne is actually from a film as well, The City Of Lost Children. Composed by Twin Peaks legend, Angelo Badalamenti.

In a parallel universe somewhere, I'm sure that Marianne Faithfull has won Eurovision with an unbeatable record breaking total.

I can't believe I hadn't connected the dots that she appeared in one of my favorite movies (even if it was at the end)

And so I sit here now tuned into Radio 1 from 6:30 to 10:00 to get a listen to a song I probably won't like much at all, and that a lot of fans have already heard as it has supposedly leaked. Life is beautiful.

This J Hus feat. Burna Boy song I'm listening to right now on Radio 1 where literally near enough every single word that ends a sentence is bleeped out as it's something naughty. Bless its soul.

Oh wait, the reveal is happening around 10:30 supposedly when Ken Bruce's show starts. Almost was going to sit there for two and a half hours listening to Melodifestivalen sounding pop songs without choruses. Whew, lucky escape.

I have it muted as I'm embarking on the Faithfull journey, I'd planned on keeping my eyes peeled here for when to unmute :ROFLMAO:

Supposedly 10:30 to 11:00 is when we're getting it. That's the time frame when the two radio shows that will play the song collide.

And oh my gosh. I wish I could retake the Faithfull journey again for the first time. Broken English from 1979 is her critically acclaimed classic, but I have a soft spot for her albums from the 10s. Give My Love To London is an epic ride, and Negative Capability is perhaps the most achingly beautiful and poignant record I've ever listened to. There's a song Marianne penned on that one called Don't Go that makes me cry every time I hear it. It was announced also recently that a biopic is coming out about her life. What a time to be a Marianne Faithfull super fan.

The Radio 1 breakfast show finishes at 11:00 CET and Ken Bruce's Radio 2 show begins at 10:30CET. Both with be premiering the song so I'm guessing it falls somewhere between that half hour where the two shows collide.

Just heard 'my last breath' lol if it's the song they're sending, it's good. but 'good' is no good sign at eurovision. look at samanta tina, who's blowing all them wigs, she has her stans and her haters.

if it's really uk's entry for this year, brace yourselves for all the comments 'See, we even sent james newman and still europe didn't vote for us because of brexit'
