Mmmmm.......
Just been on the BBC's eurovision website and its down.
Is this a sign that the BBC are close to an announcement?
Maybe because that’s not the correct URL?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0070hvg - This one works fine for me
Can’t wait for the inevitable disappoint when we randomly drop a Melfest reject hours before the deadline
To be fair though those third years as you put them tend to be the years that the BBC changed its selection process in some way; in 2011 it was the year after their brief spell of getting well known song writers to write the track, 2014 was the year they got BBC Introducing to find the act (which they only did that year), from that point on there was no major changes to the process to my recollections.Every third year UK gets better results...it is time to be better rated in 2020 according to that..

But yeah, its not beyond the realms of possibility that we do better this year going off past records due to the selection process changing though of course that will depend on who is selected and if there song is any good.
Plot Twist!: Turns out the rumours were true and they were planning to announce it this week/last week but they forgot the password to their Twitter and because the Beeb was to ensure total brand cohesion they need wait till Roger from IT gets back from his holidays.
Someone go and try and log in, i bet its BBC123 or something.
