Doesn't help that I start my exams on Friday. I was hoping I would have a good boost after Saturday's result. guess not.

That's better timing. Mine were during Eurovision week, I couldn't focus

All the people saying she lacked movement and was too static with no energy, 1) The original video showed a live performance that was similar to Eurovision and then we got great backing from that 2) This song is not a song to be doing cartwheels to. Just like many songs, some are all about the voice and the feeling within. I hope Molly wasn't upset, she did really well with her performance. One day I hope she returns to Eurovision and sings another song of this genre.

I think the UK didn't really make any clear choices about how to present the song. The song is already not as clear because it sort of hangs in between niches combined with the fact that Molly's facial expression was quite static whilst singing. I think the reason people didn't vote for this is because they had no idea about what the song was trying to say. It is one thing to say ''Power to the people'' and it's another thing to actually communicate that. I'm sure Molly is a lovely girl and she tried very hard, but I think her inexperience is what got her.

If you don't mind, can you please tell me what each of these songs were trying to say :) Belarus, Poland and Romania please. For example.

I'm not sure the hippie look reflected the kind of song it was musically.

That was always a turn off for me (and I got trashed and called strange on the other forum for saying that ) although I thought yesterday she looked more like a stone age barbarian then a hippie

The look was one of the things to ruin it. When I noticed she had started to wear this weird look I really wondered why :? such a random choice.

I don't like all of these performances either but I think they all did better at mouth feeding the audience what they were trying to say.

Belarus: Funny, slick, sexy song. Obviously wanting to make the audience smile and the ladies swoon.
Poland: Quirky, naughty, boobs. They wanted to make straight men vote for their boobs and the rest because they were being ironic.
Romania: Big showy, vocal show off song with lots of glamour and sparkle. They were obviously going for what I like to call the ''what just happened'' factor where they try to make you forget everything else by shoving some big smoke and mirrors into your face, either by using vocals or props etc.

When watching these songs, whether I liked them or not, it was very obvious to me what they were going for. I'm not saying I personally didn't get what the UK was going for at all. What I'm saying is what performers are taught from the beginning: ''Pretend that the audience is stupid.'' which counts even more when the majority of your audience comes from different backgrounds and cultures.

Overexaggeration, I think there were just some minor technical issues in one or two countries

Thank god you didn't post anything like this on the other forum before the contest

When I said the hippie/bohemian look was weird and personally off putting to me they called me particular, strange and a hater

There was nothing wrong with the look she had at the song reveal....it was modern and looked lovely on her xshrug

And I think the fist pumping power to the people while catchy was also off putting to some people as well, it came off as aggressive and not very peace, love and happiness xshrug

Hmm...interesting..

I saw on Serbian, Montenegrin and Spanish TV, it was full performance + postcard. xshrug

I mentioned it a couple of pages back, apparently Lithuania got that ^ Poland had technical issues with the postcard and beginning of the song, Parts of Germany had the same issue. And Something happened in Albania.
