I don't like all of these performances either but I think they all did better at mouth feeding the audience what they were trying to say.
Belarus: Funny, slick, sexy song. Obviously wanting to make the audience smile and the ladies swoon.
Poland: Quirky, naughty, boobs. They wanted to make straight men vote for their boobs and the rest because they were being ironic.
Romania: Big showy, vocal show off song with lots of glamour and sparkle. They were obviously going for what I like to call the ''what just happened'' factor where they try to make you forget everything else by shoving some big smoke and mirrors into your face, either by using vocals or props etc.
When watching these songs, whether I liked them or not, it was very obvious to me what they were going for. I'm not saying I personally didn't get what the UK was going for at all. What I'm saying is what performers are taught from the beginning: ''Pretend that the audience is stupid.'' which counts even more when the majority of your audience comes from different backgrounds and cultures.
And now explain the UK song to me
