Has anyone mentioned V V Brown before? I've been listening to her new album all this week and am addicted to it. Something like this song here would do very well in the contest I believe and is exactly what we need. I actually think it would be a perfect entry. Margaret Berger meets Loreen with a deep towering vocal. It could get us top five easily and we'd be respected for once and not laughed at.

Some of you may remember her track from a few years back "Shark In The Water" (and her modelling in the Marks and Spencer adverts). Her new stuff is quite a radical departure. It's hard to even box it all into a genre but it's basically just very good experimental pop music. Her voice is epic.

Good option, but would it get people talking and pull the viewers in?

This is what the BBC seems to only kinda care about now. :/

Thats the problem. V V Brown isn't a "name" and so they would never choose her internally if she wanted to do it. She wouldn't get people talking and she'd probably do really well with the right song which the BBC would never want. It's quite clear the people at the bbc are either deaf as to what the public want or are the biggest trolls going. I'd love to have the job of internally picking artists. It would be so stupidly easy to improve our results.

I really really love "Shark in the water"!

It's incredibly good isn't it? I remember falling in love with the song the moment I first heard it years ago. None of her other releases struck a chord with me though, so I forgot her until now.

I really love this VV Brown song :D

Oh I gather this must be from her 2nd album which she shelved just before release? She wasn't happy with the end result apparently. She seems very versatile.

I'd have said VV Brown was a name as she was quite important here when Shark in the water was released. I remember she was in a commercial, and her hairstyle has been adopted by every black girl ! It's a huge pity any other songs didn't follow... :( She's a great artist !

BTW, I so thought about you Rainy, as last week Amanda Lear went everywhere on TV to promote her album and was so xqueenbitch
The most noticed moment was when the comedy weather host in Le Grand Journal Doria Tillier told her she adviced her not to make a wink otherwise she would have the arse between the shoulder blades. And after a big laughing, Amanda said "here and there, if it's still reachable" xrofl3 xqueenbitch

For a change, I'd like an early announcement this year. It won't happen, but I can hope. We all know It's Adele anyway.

VV Brown xheartxheart

She has got a strong voice - so relieving with those :). Going to catch up with Samson & Delilah.

edit:
I'm confused, the album is said to be released 8 October, other sources says it's already out - possibly UK only? It's not on Spotify for me.

I think some kind of announcement that they're working hard would do me fine. Just some kind of information that they give a **** tbh. And by that, I mean actually caring, none of this "we are extremely proud to be a part of Eurovision" fake crap they spout out whenever I send a complaint.
What we see on that stage says the honest truth about how "proud" they are, and the truth is they aren't.

Agreed. I don't like her other songs as much. Still, something like "Shark in the water" would be quite refreshing on Eurovision, and I think the UK could get a top ten with it! But as you said, not that the BBC wants that.

Seriously, if the BBC could get Jamelia to do that 'I Love My Country' abomination, there is no reason why they can't get someone at least semi-respectable for a show that is actually about music.

'I Love My County' is made by Avalon and not in house by the BBC. Also Jamelia is more known as a panelist for such shows than wanting to pursue a music career. But I do understand what you're saying with singers make odd choices to promote themselves. It is why McFly are often mentioned as they will do pretty much anything for attention.
