Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

Not bad :) Well, it's certainly more professional and a LOT better than last year  I think if the BBC have actually managed to get Charlotte Church (by UK Eurovision standards a MASSIVE name) then it's definitely a step in the right direction and I'd hope that it'd continue in that direction, especially if the BBC advertise the contest more and do the promotion they did in 2009 (and that payed off).

The only problems I can see is that Charlotte might only be doing this (if she is) to promote her album and get more sales in, and if she does badly then it'll only make things worse for us next year. If a famous(ish) person can't do well for us then who can? :p

Good point sean but i think you've answered it yourself :p the BBC need to advertise and promote her as much as Jade. The thing with Charlotte Church is she is a very determined woman & will probably be promoting all over europe ( or trying as much as the BBC allow)

Oh, I read about Charlotte Church at wikipedia. She could be a very good decision for UK and together with a very good song it may be successfull. It can only get better this year after last years song. I hope for a good performance like Jade Ewen on 2009 - I was so impressed about her.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

Jenkins wouldn't be a good choice, we had Malena Ernman and the juries made it clear Popera wasn't welcome in ESC.

I quite like Popera too.

The performance was a bit disappointing, though (,especially the final one and she did bad in the final, after all...). The juries were the one who gave her lower marks, though, and we have to look at the dress rehearsal or whatever rehearsal it was to see what the performance was there. ;)

I think Katherine would do much better than Malena because Malena could only sing the opera parts and was off-key on the rest of the song whereas Katherine can sing everything pretty much perfectly. Although she's not my favourite, Id quite like to see her representing us at Eurovision (much preferable to Charlotte Church imo!).

I'm not too fond of Popera (actually i'm the opposite) so Charlotte Church for me (if any of these).

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

checked katherine Jenkins official site. (where i do spend a lot of time :p ) Usually her shows list is filled up quite a bit but currently

3-6 feb shes booked
-small gap-
20 Mar shes booked
then a MASSIVE GAP (possible eurovision promotion ;) ) until 28th may which is after ESC is finished :p then shes doing things in May, June & July

There is definately potential for eurovision to go in her schedule, especially as she is usually performing or making albums, it's unusual to see a large gap :p

I am keeping my fingers crossed

EDIT: if you wanna see for yourself her website is
http://kj.tv/
and click on shows :p

If we had our pick of opera singers, I would give anything for Sarah Brightman at Eurovision. Absolutely love her and she has the ability to do most genres.
