UA PBC looks like an absolute fool because they let it happen… the agenda is fair enough (Russian issue), but it is the execution that is completely wrong… the prohibited thing in any contest is to change the rules after the fact… once you have set the rules and registered the participants, there is no way the winner can be disqualified (unless he/she kills someone)… anyway, surely it can’t be based on information that had been available and known before the contest started
to summarize, (1) the song is good and could have won the Eurovision, (2) I don’t like MARUV’s hypocritical attitude to Russia and all the BS she says regarding it, (3) UA PBC – you let her compete, made the show and money from that, so now f@ckin accept her victory and leave her alone, since no new information came out and you had been aware of everything before letting her participate

Well it was quite fun imagining it in my head but in reality we all understand that it would lead to a new shit explosion, so naaah.

I really hope the Ukrainian broadcaster will release a statement, because all we have is Maruv's obvious breach of contract that she's making public and her whining about it, but would be interesting to hear the other side of the story as well. Kremlin trolls of course have a field fest with this and the whole thing seems pretty clumsy from the Ukrainian broadcaster, on the other hand like I wrote already all acts winning their selections sign contracts with their broadcasters, but this is the first time in ESC history that an act breached their contract and put it publically, to me Maruv's behavior is also very odd tbh and I'm not sure she's the victim in all of this. Would you all be ok with other countries' winners publically whining about their contracts? Most stuff that she presented in her contract is pretty common sense stuff and not political at all, it's almost like she is trying to make politics out of it herself. Sure we have the clumsy minister saying his opinion, but his opinion is his and those were not the points in the contract that she put publically. Bottom line I hope we get a statement asap from the Ukrainian broadcaster, there is something odd in this whole story.

That is not a good attitude. Whoever does represent Ukraine should not be blamed for any of this. Deciding to hate an entry before hearing is immature and pointless, since it will no effect on it's result in May.

I dont think the artist, whoever it'll be should be blamed for all of this. I dont want to hear boos, I think thats a shame for every artist coming on stage, giving their best. We all say: LET ALONE THE POLITIC, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EUROVISION! But then again so many people are willing to boo Ukraine. I dont like what they've done here. But any person who'll step on that stage after THIS drama, deserves full respect.
It'll be difficult for Ukraine to find one though, because the chosen singer will face a hell lot of critics and negativity. I am open for KAZKA even though people seemed to hate them, the song is still on my playlist. But with a completely new artist with a good song I am fine too. If Ukraine withdraws, also fine. What a flippant reaction.
It's not the fault of any artist that their home country is in a messed up situation, unless they specficially choose to be a puppet of the local régime. While Ukraine would deserve an NQ simply based on the draconian conditions they wanted to put MARUV through, projecting that onto their eventual entrant is petty and unfair.
We ought to be better than this.
