What are you all talking about? Jamala will win semi final 2 and then she will be in the top 3 in the final. It's impossible that she will score lower than 3rd place in the final and lower than 1st place in her semi final. I'm afraid that she might have the faith of Italy last year: winning the televoting and then the juries to consider it 'too political' and take the trophy from her...

Don't get my wrong, I really love the song but your prediction is pretty bold. The "problem" with the song is that it really is an unique piece of art quite far away from the mainstream. There are only a few people who think it's an okish, middle-of-the-road song - They either love it or hate it with passion. It will probably do very well in the eastern countries (especially with the televoting) but the juries in general and the western public won't appreciate it that much, I fear. (They might prefer Latvia or Australia maybe Norway) Ofc it also really depends on the performance.... I think atm a Top 10 place in the final is quite realistic although I'd love to see her winning. :D

you are too optimistic. despite unique song and amazing voice her highest hope is 5-6th place. I wonder if she even can enter top-10. Because it cannot score much from juries and televoting (too personal and too non-standard).

We will say in May, but I still think the same and I am pretty sure about it. Jamala will win her semifinal and then top 3 in the final.

It's not that I am optimistic. Jamala will stand out and will do very well at the tele voting. The problem is our case is the national juries. They will probably place her in the top 10 but somewhere between 5th and 10th and that's how she will lose the trophy. As I have previously said, I am pretty sure that Ukraine will do an Italy 2015 in the final.

I don't tend to post that I don't like things, but I feel I need to here. I don't understand the hype. I don't like the song and I HATE her voice I don't understand how many people love this.

He has "I didn't know" and the beautiful vocals of Serhat in his Top 10, just saying
In a year full of dire songs that are insultngly average, I don't see a problem having a song that makes me laugh in my top 10. I end up enjoying it more than the boring songs or the ones which I forget as soon as they end. That and I put it into my top 10 after the disco version, which made me laugh for one hour straight when I first heard it.

Indeed I didn't wanna insult, but since we were talking about vocals, I felt like a comparison should've been made between Jamala and Serhat, but also other singers from this year's ESC. Do we wanna talk about the vocals of Rykka, Nicky Byrne, Ivan etc.? I just wanted to say that Jamala doesn't really have off-key vocals, but that she simply has a very different, unconventional and particular vocals.

Just listened to it for the first time and wow. This is so monotone, forgettable and uneventful, and her voice is really... off-putting to say the least. how is this a favorite is beyond me, but ok I guess.

I never said that she can't sing. She can, but her vocal grates on my ears and no matter what she would have sung, I wouldn't like it because of her voice. If there's anything good about this entry is that at least she toned down this time, because her NF song from 2011 was unbearable. However at the same time she seems to now struggle with the English, since I can't understand most of what she says in this song, unlike with Smile, where I understood her despite her screaming.

The same thing i don't get in :lv:. Everybody hypes it but it is so forgattable, simple and monotone. Exactly as you describe. Probably this is matter of taste. I liked Jamala's song from first listening before national final even started. But i have biased opinion about it because i not always like how she performs it live.
